Modern Grays

Vickie made this quilt for her daughter, who requested "modern"!

On the bars...

Sticking with the modern theme, I quilted it with Figure 8s. Denyse Schmidt, considered by some to be the mother of modern quilting, made Figure 8 quilting popular. Here's one of her quilts.

Vickie used quite a variety of grays--prints, mottled, batiks and Kaffe Fassets.

The backing is an extra-wide gray swirl.

Love the alternate mix of nine-patches with curved pieced blocks! Great job, Vickie!!!

Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  2. The quilt is absolutely beautiful! Vicki did a fantastic job. The pattern you chose for quilting really complements the quilt well. A great finish for all! --Andrea

  3. Looks fantastic! I have a healthy collection of gray fabrics; this is quite inspiring.

  4. I love the colours in this quilt. It is definitely something I would do. Well done it's simply beautiful
