Delicate Disappearing 4-Patch

Kim, a co-worker at Quilt Cove, made this super cute quilt for Claudia, her grandson's girlfriend.

It's a disappearing 4-patch made from soft-hued batiks:

Claudia loves to swim and run. That info, along with the background soft blue color, led me to go with "Harbour Wave" for the quilting.

The backing is this lovely lavender batik.

I especially appreciated Kim's note telling me who the quilt is for and what the recipient's likes and dislikes are. That really helped me to decide how to quilt it.
Great job, Kim!!! Such a beautiful quilt. Claudia is a lucky young woman!

Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  9. Hi Nancy,
I have always wanted to make this pattern, and this quilt is the perfect reason why. This is just beautiful. I love the quilting . . . it is just perfect to highlight the design yet not take anything away from it. Just what you want! I am 100% sure Claudia will love it. Such a thoughtful gift to begin with and you only enhanced it. ~smile~ Roseanne

  11. It's a lovely quilt. Looking at the close-up pictures I can see the D9P pattern, but when looking at the entire quilt those blocks look like there are curves in some of the piecing. The quilting emphasizes that. It was the perfect design choice Nancy!
