▨ Simple Squares ▧

I used up most of my stash of charm squares in making sewing kits for Operation Christmas Child last fall. You can see those 50 sewing kits here

But I still had a stack of Christmas charms hanging around. As we hit the Christmas season, I got the urge to sew them all together into a quilt of simple squares. Here's the finished product:

The back is pieced together from stash. If you look closely, those are Christmas teddy bears in the upper right corner:

I had fun quilting every row with a different motif:

This one was my favorite, kind of a fern with a swirl at the top:

I love doing figure 8s:

This quilt finished at 63" X 76". I'm planning on giving it to a charity this year at Christmas. DD2 had some labels made at Dutch Label Shop with the word, "Priceless", to convey the message that the recipient is priceless in God's eyes. You can see one here on the bottom corner:

Grace & peace!!! ~Nancy

  2. I think you get the award for the first Christmas quilt of 2018 :-) I like the quilt with its jumble of colors and fabrics, and I think the quilting is really fun. What a great idea on the label. A good reminder for all of us!

  4. You know, I really love charm square quilts but I've never made one before. Perfect for all those treasured bits of novelty Christmas fabrics in my stash, and now that I have the square die for my Accuquilt GO! Baby cutter... :-) Now I've added that to my To Make List for this year!

  13. And I thought I had a lot of Christmas fabrics but you have some that I've never seen before. Great idea to make a one patch quilt which is my favorite pattern and I might have to make a quilt like yours. I already have yardage of a Christmas print which has been sitting in the cupboard too long which would be a perfect backing. It's must be great to have a longarm for quilting your quilts, sigh.
