April Minikins Challenge ✅

Sara at Sew Sweetness is having a different challenge each month with her Minikins patterns. The Minikins are 12 patterns of small, quick and easy bags that are fun to make and use, or give as gifts.

Sara's Minikins challenge for April is the Desktop Cubes.
This pattern comes in small, medium and large. Although technically not a bag, this pattern has much of the same structure as Sara's bag patterns, and without a zipper it goes together even quicker!

There are videos for each of the 12 projects, with step-by-step instructions.

Mine are made from fabrics by Naomi Collection, from Yuzawaya, Japan, and lined with Japanese yukata fabrics.

I also made this set of 9, size small, out of yukata fabrics bought mostly at church bazaars in Japan.

You can find sew many cute, inspiring Desktop Cubes here, on Sara's blog. Check them out!

  4. These cubes are extra special sewn in your gorgeous Japanese fabrics! I love how the top is angled, too, giving them a nice style :)

  5. Oh, I definitely need to put these on my list! So many squirrels romping in my quilt room right now, why not add one more to the bunch! Your boxes are so pretty in those fabrics, Nancy! I love the angled tops!

  6. The bags and cubes are all very nice, but the expense-$80- as the only way to get them is out of reach for some of us. Please ask your friend to offer individual patterns so more of us can try one or a few of her great designs without investing so much at one time. Thanks. ( I realize this is a great value but still...)
