Verve + Road Trip Day 1

One definition for "Verve" is "enthusiasm or vigor, as in literary or artistic work". Karen, as a fairly new quilter, definitely embodies "verve"! Take a glance back here to see her first quilt, made for her older son. Now she has made a quilt for her second son:

I quilted it with "Verve":

Karen said the quilt starts out as a 4-patch, then the two opposite corner slivers are added:

Both the top and back are beautiful batik fabrics:

Quilted! Great job, Karen! Keep quilting with verve!!!

We went on a road trip in June. DD2 makes day-by-day videos of these every year. Here's Day 1 of our road trip to California (DD2 started vacation 2 days earlier with her friend's wedding, so for her it was day 3):

  1. Karen is certainly a talented "newer" quilter. I love her quilt pattern, fabrics, and your Verve quilting. Her son is going to love this!
Our family loved watching Susanna's day 3 vacation video. Jonathan loved the lawn mowing! Checking for a Bible in your hotel room is a nice touch!

  4. When I saw the picture I thought it was blocks askew on the lawn - nice trick on the eyes! It is a sweet pattern and so easy! nice idea for the 4 patch leader/ender project. Of course, verve is just delightful! Love the video, too. Have a great trip!

  10. What a pretty quilt front and back. I thought the same thing as Kathleen that it was blocks on the lawn.
