All My 𝕏's

I love Plus block quilts. This quilt is a Plus block tipped sideways. It is a super fun layer-cake quilt pattern from Missouri Star Quilt Company.

Here's the video instructions in 54 seconds:

Japanese 🇯🇵 Gypsy Wife

Here's my Gypsy Wife quilt!!! I sewed the blocks in 2018 as a QAL (quilt along) with two groups I belong to. Then I spent all of January and the first half of February assembling and finishing it, in order to enter it in our quilt show on February 15th.

As it says in the pattern, putting these blocks together "is a journey"! In other words, it's a lot of work, just when you thought you were done with a lot of work, AKA sewing zillions of random blocks!
Below are my blocks on the design wall. I recommend labeling each one with the finished size in inches. Then when it's laid out on the design wall, you can switch blocks that are the exact same size and spread out the color arrangement. This is before rearrangement:

Their were 16 entries, which made it fun:

Though I have cut way back on client quilts in order to make more of my own quilts, I have some to share with you today. Here are four I've quilted this year.

Quilt info
Maker: Jennifer
Size: 46" X 58"
Batting: Quilters Dream Batting 80/20

Interesting fact: This is Jennifer's second quilt ever! Her first quilt was a t-shirt quilt from the Spartan Races she's run, and can be seen here.

✂️Can't We All Just Quilt Along?!!✂️

Have you seen Angela Walters' t-shirt that says, "Can't we all just quilt-along?" We quilters love quilt alongs, where a group makes the same quilt, each in their own fabric choices. I put this saying on a Shutterfly notebook along with a photo of my En Provence quilt. This is where I keep track of all of the quilts I've quilted. I am up to #558 now.

All this is to say, I've been working on two quilt-alongs (QALs) recently. The first is a "quilting cousins QAL" involving my sister, our cousin and myself. The Villa Rosa pattern we chose is called Lamplighter. I used a charm pack called "Strawberry Fizz":

❤️ Be My Valentine ❤️

We are well past Valentine's Day, but hearts are a classic symbol of love no matter the time of year. Let me introduce you to Be My Valentine Heart Mug Rug:

I made this heart for my dear friend, Paula, who is fighting ovarian cancer. Paula is a talented knitter and quilter and has been faithfully podcasting, plus hosting knitting retreats, for 8 years as Knitting Pipeline. You can find her podcast on iTunes and her videos on YouTube
I made the patchwork piece by strip piecing, just big enough to cut out the heart:
