🌈RSC Dark/Bright Blues🟦

I'm doing the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC) again in 2023! It's a great way to work through your scraps, month by month, and turn them into quilts!
January's RSC color is dark and bright blue! Angela @ SuperScrappy posts a color every month.

This year I'm sorting through my 2 1/2" squares and making 6 x 6 postage stamp blocks. I was inspired by woodberry_way on Instagram--here's her baby quilt:
Here's my collection of 2 1/2" squares at the beginning of the year. ⤵️ Note that there may be additions as the year progresses.
I had 2 dark blue stacks and 1 bright blue stack after sorting through my squares--the color with the most squares! I made 9 dark blue blocks and 3 bright blue blocks. Here are close-ups of 3 dark blue blocks. ⤵️
And one of the bright blue blocks. ⤵️
My 2023 Rainbow Scrap Challenge block count:

January:     Dark/Bright Blues    12 blocks

See the colors for each month and the Saturday link parties at Angela's blog: SoScrappy!!!

Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  1. These are fabulous, Nancy! My blue scraps are by far the most plentiful, except maybe for grey because I use that a lot for backgrounds.

  2. What a great idea for a baby quilt! I love your blue blocks. Of all of the colors, I have the least amount of blue in my stash. And I love blue!

  3. That’s a great block to use up 2 1/2 “ squares. I’m curious about your method. Do you sew strops of 6 square, or do you make 4 9-patches? I love looking at all your interesting fabric, close up!

  17. What a great collection of blue blocks. Your stacks of squares will be smaller before you know it. Looks like you will have enough for a big quilt at this rate.

  19. These are terrific blue blocks! What great planning to sort your squares at the beginning of the process into color ways. You are so wise! It is going to see the piles "disappear" into blocks during the year!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects.

  20. What makes your block sparkle is the sprinkling of lights/darks/mediums -- unified yet varied. Pink for February.
