More Virtual RetreatšŸ–„️Quilts

Quilter Bonnie, Quilting Cousin Sue and I all participated in the GE Quilt Designs Virtual Retreat, March 24-26 this year. I just finished quilting Bonnie's three quilts!!! She picked the Hibiscus Hummingbird fabric line for her retreat box!⤵️
Quilt Info #1:
Maker: Quilter Bonnie
Pattern: Back Home from Master Your Stripology Ruler by Gudrun @ GE Designs
Fabrics: Hibiscus Hummingbird Collection from Lewis & Irene
Size: 27" x 27"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Light Olive
Pantograph: Curvature ⤵️ from Sew Shabby Quilting
I love this modern quilting design! This was my first time to try it out.⤴️⤵️
Interesting Info: This was the third quilt we made during the retreat. It was a bonus quilt, a surprise that Gudrun threw in as an extra! We learned Gudrun's technique for making flying geese using her Stripology ruler. Bonnie finished it the same day, so I quilted it for her first.
For backing, Bonnie used the two half-yard gifts that came in the quilt retreat box! ⤴️
Quilt Info #2:
Maker: Quilter Bonnie
Pattern: Ariel from Gudrun @ GE Designs
Fabrics: Hibiscus Hummingbird Collection from Lewis & Irene
Size: 57" x 76"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Nickel
Pantograph: African Foliage ⤵️ from Three Sisters Fabric
With all those cute hummingbirds, a floral pantograph made sense!⤴️⤵️
This pattern is made from 2 1/2" strips, plus a background fabric that came in the retreat box!
Bonnie got enough 108" backing fabric ⤵️ for both this quilt and the third retreat quilt below.
Quilt Info #3:
Maker: Quilter Bonnie
Pattern: Nikki from Gudrun @ GE Designs
Fabrics: Hibiscus Hummingbird Collection from Lewis & Irene
Size: 51" x 68"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Pink
Pantograph: Daisy Daze ⤵️ from Karlee Porter
More flower quilting for those hummingbirds!!!

Three pretty retreat quilts, Bonnie!!!
Here are my three retreat quilts⤴️, made from "Random Thoughts" by Marcia Derse. You can read more about this yearly virtual retreat at this link. I wonder what next year's retreat will bring!!!

Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  1. These are all lovely quilts! My favorite is the 2nd one, I really like the contrast of the almost solid gray with the stripped pieced triangles. The quilting designs really highlight the quilting, just beautiful!

  4. Bonnie did a great job on all 3! I love the background on Back Home and the Curvature quilting design is perfect with it. It is really an interesting design. The second, I love the African Foliage you picked to go with it. The grey works really well as a background. And, the last one, I just love the daisy as a quilting design. You really get a lot of quilts out of her QAL and Bonnie (and you) did a fabulous job!

  10. Wonderful quilts. And nice to see the same fabrics used in all three. The quilting is very effective, I especially like the large daisy panto.

  12. Hi Nancy, those are great quilts that Bonnie made. I love the quilting. It's always fun to look at pantographs to see what elements could be FMQ. It's not as if I could copy them, but there are some lovely designs that can be adapted. I love the difference that the fabric makes between your quilts and Bonnies. Thanks for linking up to Free Motion Mavericks.

  13. Great to see all three quilts. They look great. Lovely fabric line, too.
And as always, I find it fascinating how the quilts look so different in another fabric design like you have used. All are wonderful!
