Two quilts by two quilters, made with love, prayers and well wishes.
Quilt Info #1:
Fabrics: Simply Cozy by Zen Chic
Pattern: Margot by GE Designs
Size: 60" x 75"
Batting: Quilter's Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Graphite
Lynn backed her quilt in Minkee! And since this quilt is going to a guy, a meander quilting design seems just right. It is a prayer quilt, of sorts, as he is going through some medical difficulties.
This will make a wonderful gift quilt, soft and warm for the coming midwest winter, filled with love and prayers!
Quilt Info #2:
Maker: Susan
Size: 50" x 64"
Batting: Quilter's Dream Cotton Deluxe
Thread: Glide--Smoke
I was trying to decide what this type of quilt would be called and I came across several phrases: comfort quilt, hugs quilt, healing quilt and prayer quilt. This quilt is for Susan's friend who is going through medical difficulties. I love this poem, "Friends are like Quilts", that Susan included!⤵️
A very simple but clever idea for a prayer quilt--they gave out 12 1/2" white squares to everyone to write a message, poem or prayer on, and sashed and bordered the squares with one fun fabric. Back it with Minkee and it makes a super cuddly, meaningful prayer quilt!
Nice job, quilters!!! Great inspiration. Prayers for each of these quilt recipients.
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

Those are both lovely and comforting. I love the way you customize your quilting with such thoughtful selection. Hope you have an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful quilts and perfect for their recipients. I love the idea of writing messages for your friend that are sewn into the quilt. Really special!
ReplyDeleteBoth recipients will be comforted with their quilts I am sure. Nice work on the quilting as always Nancy.

Wonderful quilts for those in need.
ReplyDeleteQuilty hugs for those going through tough times. The quilting is lovely as always, Nancy!
ReplyDeletePrayer quilts is the perfect moniker for quilts for those going through difficult times. Once again, you chose the perfect pantograph with Cupid. The idea of combining mirror image swirls with an elongated, echoed heart is genius. It truly is a medical journey, filled with love and progress, setbacks and more progress.
ReplyDeleteGreat choices on the quilting design. The Cupid panto is my favorite . . .today! Friends sure help when there is a medical journey. These quilts will be cherished.---TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteNice work indeed. Such thoughtful gifts. And I love that you longarm their minkee backings for them. I tried domestic machine quilting with minkee... once. Never again. What a mess! But the soft cuddliness of such a quilt can't be denied. They're wonderful, especially in northern climes where snuggling on a sofa with a hot drink is necessary. :-) I hope you're enjoying your beautiful snow, and not having to get out in it (very much).
ReplyDeleteThese beautiful quilts will bring joy and confort to their recipients, they were made and quilted with love. The Cupidon pattern is lovely, and yes, I recognized the first quilt ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing these special quilts and linking up.
They are both lovely quilts and obviously made with special thoughts in mind.
ReplyDeleteVery kind gestures.
I really like the name of the pantograph for the first quilt, Amoebas Gone Wild. I think that name is perfect.
Love the backing on both quilts, too.
The heart quilting is especially pretty. But simple stippling always works nicely.
ReplyDeleteNice quilts and quilting. I'm not a fan of Minkie but it sure shows off the quilting beautifully.
ReplyDeleteOne of the reasons I love quilting is the personal love stitched into each one, from the selection of the pattern to the fabrics chosen... so much on one's self goes into them. Thanks for sharing in Sew & Tell.
ReplyDeleteThese are both wonderful. I really love that prayer quilt and the minkee will definitely make it warm and cozy. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings.
