Here are 4 quilts I quilted in the past week and 3 of them are mine!
Quilt Info #1:
Pattern: Koby from GE Designs
Fabrics: Urban Oasis Flannels from Northcott Fabrics
Size: 86" x 90"
Batting: Quilters Dream Batting Wool
Thread: Glide--Light Turquoise
I've shared that "Jessica's Vidalia" was my husband's favorite pantograph. This one, "Skating", is my favorite pantograph! Molly, the designer, wrote that if you want a modern pantograph, "choose one that is hard to describe, with a shape you don't quite have the words for". Skating definitely fits that criteria.
This quilt started as a Christmas gift from my friend, Lynn. Here's the entire bundle ⤵️, plus we added several blenders. She bought one yard cuts of everything and split them half and half with me.

My experience is flannels are usually Autumn or Christmas themed, which doesn't really carry on through all the flannel quilt months we face here in Minnesota. Lynn and I both fell in love with this flannel group for the New Years to Spring flannel quilt season.
I used a 108" wide flannel backing ⤵️ and used the trim off parts for nice, long binding strips. ⤴️
Lynn and I had a sew day and cut out our quilts together. You'll see her version, also a Koby quilt, later this month. By the way, we did reconfigure the blocks so our quilts came out wider than the original pattern, from the original 75" x 100" size, to 86" x 90".

Quilt Info #2:
Maker: Quilter Bonnie
Pattern: Margot from GE Designs
Size: 59" x 74"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Light Turquoise
Bonnie started this quilt on October 18, 2025, when Gudrun of GE Designs had a one-day virtual retreat. Gudrun recently announced that she will be doing a one-day virtual retreat again this fall.
Part of the retreat price included quilter's choice between 12 different fabric lines, which included 12 fat quarters, background fabric, border and binding fabrics, plus a number of other goodies and surprises. Bonnie added this 108" backing.Super cute fabrics!!! And did you notice, the quilt is made up of 2 different blocks? Bonnie used the alternative layout, with 24 A blocks in the center, surrounded by 24 B blocks around the outside.

I love dense quilting! Combined with 100% cotton batting, the quilt gets softer with each washing and drying.
This is another QAL held by Gudrun just last Saturday, February 7, 2026. There were no retreat boxes this time, just use your own fabric stash. I decided to keep it small and make a baby quilt.
The original crib size finishes at 37" x 45". I wanted mine a little larger so I added a border, ⤴️ which brought it up to 43" x 50".
This is a woodland animals themed quilt, destined for my daughter's co-worker who is expecting a baby boy. In keeping with the woodland theme, I used this IKEA duvet cover, which I find absolutely charming!
Quilt Info #4:
Maker: Me
Pattern: Charming Stacks from Sterling Quilt Co.
Size: 40" x 52"
Batting: Quilters Dream Batting 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Smoke
More dense quilting. I wash most of my quilts when finished and before gifting, to get them started on the softening and crinkling.
This 5" charm square quilt pattern uses many of the same fabrics as my Frida quilt, above, and the same duvet cover for backing. This was a twin size duvet cover. I was able to back 3 baby quilts with it, piecing together the front, back and pillowcase.
This is a great 5" charm square pattern--I highly recommend it!!!

Here are the 4 quilts once more, draped over my patio railing. I quilted another quilt, also, but that one is a surprise and will be revealed at a later date.
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

You had a busy week, Nancy. All four quilts turned out beautifully. I do like the skating quilting design. Frida is an interesting and unique design.
ReplyDeleteYou find the cutest Duvet covers, either you are at IKEA a lot or you really find a lot at one time and stock up!
ReplyDeleteLOVE Koby, and the fact it is flannel just makes it more attractive to me. The Skating quilting design is very appropriate right now with the Olympics. ;) Your special touch or change on each quilt just makes each more uniquely beautiful. I especially like the duvet cover on the back of the charm square quilt!
ReplyDeleteSkating is a beautiful quilting design, and it's fun to see how it finishes different quilts! I love the blue, teal, and gray flannels you found for Koby - they are definitely perfect for this time of year. Lots of beautiful finishes this week, Nancy!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of quilts! But each one is beautiful. Lovely quilting! Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

What lovely quilts! I am in love with the teal and grey flannels - so perfect for the other parts of winter weather. Love the panto, skating, too. Bonnie's Margot is delightful, and I do like that you can see the two different blocks. I also love the Frida, and was hoping to sew along, but it didn't work out. The baby quilt with that fabulous IKEA back is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteA pretty quartet of quilts, Nancy! I love thqt skating panto!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite are the first and last quilts. I love easy to make simple quilts and your lovely quilting takes them up a notch. Lovely fabrics you chose too.
ReplyDeleteAll are just adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteYou had a busy week!! Go you for getting your own quilts quilted!!
ReplyDeleteAnother great batch of quilts. I love studying the pantographs you choose. Labyrinth caught my eye. Love how it combines spirals with more like a paperclip shape.
ReplyDeleteAll wonderful finishes, but I love that Margot pattern. Thanks for linking up with TGIFF!
ReplyDeleteKoby looks great. I really like the Urban Oasis fabric. And how lovely to have it in flannel.
ReplyDeleteBonnie's quilt is lovely, too. Those blocks are really interesting and I like the skating pantograph you have used.
The two baby quilts are great fun. I like the fabrics and of course the backing as well.
Great patterns. I will have to check them out.
All four quilts look great! The urban oasis fabric is very striking—it looks like a Tim Holz-type fabric. I don’t have that quilts design, but I may order it. I saw you used it on two fairly different quilts, and it worked well on both. The IKEA fabric on the back of the last two is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI see you are up to your "old tricks," making and quilting at a rabbit's pace. It's great that you find items at IKEA from which to making backings. You must have an IKEA store near you. I'd have to drive 90 minutes to get to one... though once there, I'd treat myself to an ice cream cone too! :-) It's lovely that you're making a quilt for your daughter to give away. You're the best mom!
ReplyDeleteFour lovely quilts this week. You've been really busy. I love your color selections. How often do you visit your local Ikea? I probably need to check out their bedding!
ReplyDeleteFour really fun quilts. I can see why the Skating is your favorite pantograph, it works really well on different quilts. You've been getting lots done on your long arm.
ReplyDeleteIf I opened the dictionary to the word "prolific" and found a picture of YOU, it would not surprise me in the least! I haven't seen that Skating panto before -- I love it! My older sister was a competitive figure skater and that panto looks just like a design I remember her scribing onto the ice for practice with a giant compass-like contraption, and then she would skate over the lines in the ice over and over to develop the muscle memory for those perfect figure eights. What a neat idea for a quilting design.
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy, as usual. I think the flannel quilt is my favorite of this bunch. Thanks for sharing in Sew & Tell.
ReplyDeleteEverything about the baby quilt is so charming - the duvet backing, the quilting, and the fabric on the front. Adorable. You're right that flannel in non-Christmas (or baby) is not easy to find. This group is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou had a great week and so glad you were able to finish three of your quilts! They are all beautiful. I really love the fabrics in Frida and the flannel fabrics as well. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings.
ReplyDeleteLove the Skating panto too, and this Ikea duvet cover is another wonderful find!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing and linking up, warm hugs
