Quilt Info #5:
Maker: Me

Batting: Quilters Dream Poly
Thread: Glide--Chestnut
This mini quilt is a bit bittersweet for me. I hand pieced these hexies while my husband was in the hospital. It definitely gave me something constructive to do, as well as a great conversational topic with the staff. And of course my husband was cheering me on.
I made this using a mini charm pack and 1" paper hexagons. For backing and binding I used this sweet bunny fabric. ⤵️
I trimmed the edges off straight for ease of binding and so it would fit on my quilt stand.
Here are all 5 quilts once more. Thanks for stopping by!!!

The hexie mini is very pretty and has such a special memory with it. I'm sure you'll think of your husband every time you look at it. My favorite 'quilt' is the tulip table runner, so pretty and I think everyone is looking forward to spring after this winter. Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteAwww that is a sweet mini and hope the memory becomes more sweet than bitter. :) Those are all beautiful quilts, and I am partial to the deer panel. I made my deer hunting nephew a quilt with a similar deer panel, and he loved it. I have that GE pattern, it is on my bucket list to make, so cute. The minkee does look like Grunge! Beautiful quilting Nancy - as always it is so thoughtfully chosen.
ReplyDeleteAll the quilts are so pretty, Nancy, and I love that you choose such perfect qiulting designs. Your little quilt makes me a bit teary-eyed, but it's such a pretty little quilt. It looks lovely on display!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your quilting endeavors. As always, they are beautiful. I might have ro check out the GE pattern used with the panel. I too, hope your hexie mini brings mostly sweet happy memories. Often you are in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThey are all so lovely, including the quilting.
ReplyDeleteAll such fun quilts, and I always love how you personalize the quilting for each theme or design. Your hexie mini is lovely, Nancy! I know you'll think of your sweet husband every time you look at it.
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful selection.
ReplyDeleteThe antler quilting on the deer panel looks wonderful. I really like the top and bottom borders, they remind me of mountains.
The Frida quilt looks great with the white accents in each block corner.
I think people who can design 3 yard quilts are so smart. Garden Path looks great and has ended up a good size.
The table runner looks gorgeous with those pretty tulips. Great choice of pantograph for that one.
And your mini hanging is lovely. I do like that ripple quilting. There are going to be all sorts of things that bring back memories of your husband. Make the most of them.
Oh so pretty! All of them are beautiful, and the deer reminded me that I have two deer panels I need to work on. The hardest part is figuring out what type of borders to go around the panel. I hope you are finding comfort in the memories of your husband!
ReplyDeleteOMG you are your ladies are so prolific and make the cutest quilts! Hugs:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the wonderful eye candy. You've been busy. I hope your little hexi quilt will be a constant reminder of your best friend. It is darling, especially with the little bunnies. What a fun group of quilts this week.
ReplyDeleteAll of them are wonderful, but the runner and the mini are my favs. Such a sweet reminder of your guy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a variety of finishes! I sure like the deer with the quilted antlers!--TerryK@onGoingProjects
