I quilted it with an edge-to-edge called "Verve". Wool batting makes the quilting stand out even more, along with being lightweight and warm:

I took a class at Quilt Cove, where we learned many tips and tricks to making this quilt, one of which was how to use Gudrun's Stripology Squared ruler.

The backing is an Angela Walters extra-wide backing print.

The pattern can be made from 10" squares or yardage. I used stash for the colorful parts and white with grey pin dots for all the light parts. Each block has a mirror-image pair.

Sue and Regina took the class with me. I'm hoping we can have a meet-up in the new year to share our quilts!
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

Oh, a quilt just for you! I love it all, the pattern, the fabrics, and the quilting! How fun. I'm completely excited for you!
ReplyDeleteThis is just beautiful! Enjoy your new quilt.
ReplyDeleteThat is one fun quilt! I love the quilt pattern you choose and that you used wool batting. Have you washed a quilt with wool batting. I have one and haven’t tried it yet - its not used - but I should experiment with it. It has always been the reason I don’t use it regularly - interested in your experience.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is so gorgeous, I love the way the colors pop against the pattern! How did you like the Stripology Squared ruler? I still can't quite tell the difference between that one and the regular Stripology (which I love).
ReplyDeleteWow, what a COOL quilt!! The piecing is so neat and vibrant in those great colors. The quilting gives it even MORE movement, it's a swirl of activity! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great way to finish up the year. What a lovely quilt. Great fabrics and colours.
ReplyDeleteLove this quilt! Beautiful fabrics, pattern, and quilting design! You have quite an assortment of quilting designs now.

That block is cool, very interesting. I'm trying to stop myself from buying the pattern. Oooo, I just might not have enough willpower!
ReplyDeleteI like that quilting pattern you used. Thanks for mentioning it. The quilt looks wonderful. Nice background fabric.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to end the year! I haven't tried wool batting yet, but that's definitely on my list of things to try on 2018!
ReplyDeleteYou ended the year with a big WOW and I'm loving the quilting as well as the prints you used. I also love that you chose a pin dot as your background which I rather use than just a solid white. Gudrun's book has a lot of great patterns. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteIt is a really lovely quilt. I am not familiar with the patterns, but have used Gudrun's patterns in the past. Always lovely.
ReplyDeleteNice pattern and coordinating quilting. claire aka knitnkwilt

ReplyDeleteNancy, this is BEAUTIFUL! I LOVE the colors you chose, I think I will make this again, using a more "scrappy" look. The quilting is gorgeous.
