Blogger's Quilt Festival 🍂 Fall 2018, Part 1

Every fall Amy Ellis, over at Amy's Creative Side, hosts an online quilt show for bloggers and Instagramers. Two entries per person, and they can be any quilt finished in the past year. Visit Amy's site here to take in the whole quilt show.

My first entry is called "Ruby Tsunami":

For all you Bonnie Hunter fans, you'll recognize this quilt pattern as "Talkin' Turkey" from Bonnie Hunter's book, String Fling

Here it is on my longarm, where I quilted it with "Lovegrass".

While we were traveling this summer, my Ruby Tsunami quilt was in the Ruby Retrospective display at the Minnesota Quilters quilt show in St. Cloud, MN. Here is the little ditty I wrote up to go with the display: "This quilt is a scrapbook of my 38 years of quilting: old & new, traditional & modern, American & Japanese fabrics".

In August I entered Ruby Tsunami in our local county fair where it received a second place red ribbon:

My original post on Ruby Tsunami can be found here.

Thanks for stopping by!
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  1. I really like this pattern. It's hard to believe how many scraps we accumulate over the years. Looks like you used up a lot of them here. Beautiful job and congrats on your ribbon.
