🔎Periodic Table 🔍 Of ⚛ Elements 🔬 Quilt

Quilt Info:
Maker: Susan of Dakota County Star Quilters
Size: 74" X 76"
Batting: Mountain Mist, Cream Rose 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Tar Heel
Quilting: Argyle
Interesting Info: Susan made this for her daughter, who is graduating from university.
The hexagon quilting design reminds me of benzene rings in organic chemistry, of which there are some pictured on the border fabric.

Border fabric--can you find the benzene rings:

Backing fabric--more benzene rings, plus an all-female staff of scientists:

Susan started with this panel. My DH found this pretty interesting, as when he was in graduate school, there were 103 elements in the Periodic Table of Elements, and now there are 118:

Congrats to Susan, for the fun quilt finish and her daughter, for graduating during this difficult time in history!!!

Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  3. This is amazing. I would buy these fabrics in a heartbeat! Before there was the Chameleon, there was a medical science career, so this is personal. Congrats to Susan's daughter. Thanks for sharing at the Chameleon's Colour & Interest Party.

  6. what fun fabric and what a great quilt. The benzene ring quilting, too, is just the thing to make this fantastic. I hadn't kept track that there were more elements in the periodic chart - good to know.
