Michelle's ๐Ÿผ Baby ๐Ÿผ Quilt

Quilt Info:
Maker: Michelle
Size: 42" X 53"
Batting: Quilters Dream Batting 100% Cotton, Request
Backing: Luxe Cuddle High Plush
Quilting: Taj Mahal
Interesting Info: This quilt is for Michelle's grandson, Isaac, born two weeks ago!

The quilting, Taj Mahal, shows up best on the backing, which is called Luxe Cuddle High Plush. It has a notably higher loft than Minkee. It definitely calls for a more open quilting design. All in all, due to the high loft, I found it pretty difficult to quilt, in that I had to be stabilizing the quilt top at all times, so as to not get pleats, puckers or shifts. But in the end, it all worked out⤵️

The blocks are paper pieced⤵️

Congratulations, Michelle, on the safe arrival of your grandson, Isaac, during the quarantine, and the finish of a beautiful quilt for him!

Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  3. Beautifully done! Very unusual, but glorious colors for a baby quilt. Congrats on surviving the stitching on that very plush backing.

  7. I love the way this looks but funny you had so much trouble with the cuddle. My longarm dealer loves using it. The definition is gorgeous and I am sure Isaac will love it.

  8. Wow, that's a fun quilting pattern! But I do bet that high loft made it difficult--looks great though!

  9. The beauty of this quilt was only enhanced by your quilting! I have been using minky backings and wool battings. They seem to make the quilts more "snuggly". Thank you for sharing!
