𝍭𝍤 Strip Off # 1 𝍤𝍭

Quilt Info:
Pattern: Strip Off from Stripology by Gudrun Erla
Size: 37" X 37"
Batting: Quilters Dream Orient
Thread: Glide 60--Mocha
Quilting: Bangkok by Sarah Ann Myers @ Urban Elementz
Interesting Info: I made this as part of the QAL that Gudrun is currently running, info here. The QAL includes 6 different patterns that use 1 1/2" strips. I started out with 6 tin boxes full of vintage strips (pre-2008). This is my second strip quilt. See my first strip QAL quilt here, Strip Lash.
The quilting, Bangkok, resembles candle flames here, set on yellow blocks:
I extended the backing to the needed length by adding some Grunge across the middle of this butterfly fabric:
Watch for my Strip Off #2 quilt later this week!
This baby quilt will be going to Jack's Basket, where babies with Down syndrome are celebrated!

Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  7. I absolutely adore these string blocks made into snowballs. What an awesome idea. They look so good together with those "floating" cornerstones too.

  9. What a great way to use up those strips! I'm so intrigued by your QD Orient batting. I remember reading that one LAQ has been converting her customers from poly to Orient and they're loving it, but I can't remember why. Does Orient shrink a little like an 80/20 or does it wash more like poly, but with a better drape to the finished quilt?

Thanks for stopping by my place...you asked if I turned the edges on my tile blocks...I use needle turn applique to turn the edges. Have a great day!
