✂️Wanda QAL✂️

I made these two quilts as part of a QAL that just finished!!! I cut my charm squares from stash and thought I was cutting enough for a baby quilt, but after I finished cutting, I discovered I cut twice as much as necessary! So, I made two baby quilts!
Quilt Info:
Pattern: Wanda by GE Designs
Size: 39" X 39"
Batting: Quilters Dream Cotton, Request
Thread: Glide--Cotton Candy
Quilting: Raindrops on Water on the first quilt,
and Talia 2 on the second quilt
Interesting Info: This was a quilt along hosted by Gudrun of GE Designs, from January 12 through February 2, 2021. "Wanda" is the cover quilt from her new book, Stripology Mixology 2. Gudrun gave lessons and tips on making the quilt during her Tuesday YouTube program. You can watch these videos, here

These are my A blocks, from lesson 1, all slanting left: ⤵️ I decided to make my quilt(s) using my current favorite color, fuchsia, and combined it with text prints.
No photos of my B blocks! So, on to the quilting!
I quilted my first quilt with "Raindrops On Water", which gives such great texture!⤵️
The backing for this one is diaper pins in pink!⤵️
I quilted my second Wanda quilt in "Talia 2", which features giant lacy flowers:⤵️
For backing on my second quilt, I was running low on the diaper pin fabric. I used what I had left, added the two leftover blocks to it, and another pink fabric:⤵️
Two baby quilts, finished and ready to go to Jack's Basket!!!
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  18. This is fun and no surprise that you cut out two. I made one like this with something called X blocks....but it is fun seeing this in all its pink prettiness. Fun to see the different quilting designs...always interesting how that changes a quilt.

  20. Yes, I love seeing the same quilt top quilted so differently! Both look fabulous, in such different ways. And I don't think I've seen that Talia 2 design before. It's lovely, and it doesn't seem to have much backtracking, either?
