October's Rainbow Scrap Challenge color is light green & lime green! Angela @ SuperScrappy posts a color every month.
The pattern I'm using is "Scrap Happy Rainbow Connection", by Amy Smart, available on her website or from Love Patchwork & Quilting magazine, Issue 85, where I first spotted it. ⤵️
Here are close-ups of some of the 12 blocks I made this month:
My final RSC block count for 2022:
January: Red 9 blocks
February: Aqua/Teal 21 blocks
March: Yellow/Gold 16 blocks
April: Pink 18 blocks
May: Sage/Forest Green 32 blocks
June: Bright/Dark Blue 24 blocks
July: Purple 31 blocks
August: Orange 16 blocks
September: Light Blue 13 blocks
October: Light Green 12 blocks
Total: 192 blocks
I have exactly enough blocks to make 4 throw-sized quilts, 48 blocks each! Now I need 4 design walls!?! November and December are for assembly and quilting. We'll see!
I was able to whittle down my scrap strip basket this year. I'm not entirely sure what I'll do with what remains--white, cream, brown, grey and black strips!?! I'll be checking out all of the inspiration at the Scrap Happy Saturday link party!!!
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

You're going to have some very pretty quilts when they're all sewn, happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteWow you really got on the ball and finished your monthly color already, good for you! Looking forward to seeing how you divide up the colors for the 4 quilts.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! I'm happy to hear you've made progress with cutting down on your scrap stash--it seems like scraps multiply in my house no matter how many are used. Can't wait to see your quilts, they're going to be beauties. Thanks for linking up to TGIFF!
ReplyDeleteI love the green blocks...so cheery. It will be fun to see how these 4 quilts come together. I am at a loss for ideas on how to auction so many quilts at one time! Maybe 4 vinyl tablecloths on the floor or tables in an auditorium with a stage where you can get up and see them....good luck!
ReplyDeleteMy scrap bin never seems to diminish! Happy that yours is under control. I sense a neutral quilt coming. Thanks for joining the Put Your Foot Down linky Party
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering how much you decreased your scrap stash with those blocks. Maybe you could do the same with the remaining colors, just use a colored background? Will be fun to see all the quilts!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing these all completed, and I love the idea of four design walls! :D Anne-Marie @ Stories from the Sewing Room
ReplyDeleteThat is quite an achievement. So many wonderful blocks.
ReplyDeleteYes, now you have to sort out the combinations and layouts. Good luck! (Karen/SunburntQuilts.)
Yeah, the last twelve. Looking forward to seeing your designs. I hope you have lots of fun messing up the whole living space with all your block groupings until you find which four combinations it will be ;) xo
ReplyDeleteGreat stash buster...loving how this is turning out!π
ReplyDeleteI love the purple and pink hints in the green blocks. Pretty tiny round leaves, shells, and music notes fabrics too, you always make such beautiful combos in your blocks.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to add one grey or black RSC block, and some multicolored too, as it can be an option for November and December, according to Angela's planning.
Thank you for sharing these beautiful blocks, and linking up today ;)
Wow! I'm so impressed with the quantity of blocks you made. Great job! I can't seem to whittle down my scrap bins in spite of sewing string blocks, etc from them. My theory is that it just "fluffs up" those scraps and keeps the bin full.
ReplyDeleteThat's an amazing amount of blocks - they're going to make beautiful quilts! It's always fun seeing your close-ups of different scraps. I saw one that I once had in my stash - the turquoise daisy sort of flowers. Wish I had more of that one!
ReplyDeleteYour RSC is looking fabulous and still tempting me -- I do have all those leftover strips from my pineapple log cabin, but I'm just not ready to face them again quite yet! ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou have great lime and Turq Scraps!! what fun they are!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great block to use up all those little strips. I love seeing your growing collection.
ReplyDelete192 blocks!, sure you will make 4 beautiful quilts. The 12 light green blocks look so pretty and happy!!!
ReplyDeleteNancy these are great blocks. 4 quilting will be fantastic. I'm looking forward to see which blocks are in which quilts. Glad your scrap bins have gotten smaller!!
ReplyDeleteCute pattern and yup you will have some nice lap quilts!
ReplyDeleteSince green is my favorite color, I love those blocks. I will look forward to seeing what your quilts look like.
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful scraps being used... makes me so happy!
ReplyDeletealways fun to see other people’s scraps
