Quilter Bonnie's Quilts

Here are four quilts made by Quilter Bonnie!

Also, please read to the end for an update on Excel College in Black Mountain, North Carolina, where our daughter is a student.
Quilt Info #1:
Pattern: Billie from GE Designs
Fabrics: Feed Sacks: Good Works from Moda
Size: 49" x 65"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Mint
Pantograph: Skating ⤵️ from Lovely Threads
Quilter Bonnie is my sister and she lets me try out new pantographs on her quilts!⤴️⤵️
This quilt pattern is Billie, one of 3 quilts we made during the GE Designs Virtual Retreat in March.
Quilt Info #2:
Pattern: Strip Search from Stripology by GE Designs
Fabrics: Feed Sacks: Good Works from Moda
Size: 15" x 22"
Batting: Quilters Dream Bamboo
Thread: Glide--Mint
Pantograph: Amoebas Gone Wild ⤵️ from Urban Elementz
Bonnie made this table runner from the leftover bits of her throw-size quilt above. Very colorful and great use of scraps!
At 1" finished strips, this is a busy quilt, which is why I went with Amoebas Gone Wild quilting, a bubbly meander. Any fancy quilting would've been lost.
Quilt Info #3:
Pattern: Old Guys Rule from Franklin Quilt Company
Size: 45" x 45"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Thyme
Pantograph: Holly Sparkle ⤵️ from Lovely Threads
Here I am, trying out another new pantograph!⤴️⤵️
This is a quilt pattern Bonnie picked up on their family vacation this summer.
Quilt Info #4:
Pattern: Traveling Table Topper from Rayche Gurl Designs of The Noble Quilter
Fabrics: Quilt Minnesota Shop Hop Charm Squares
Size: 19" x 38"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Graphite
Pantograph: Wobble Arches Lite ⤵️ from Interstar Designs
Don't you love this new pantograph?! It's a free panto from a new designer--InterstarsDesigns. Follow him on Instagram for instructions on receiving this free digital panto.
Cool beans!⤴️⤵️
This table runner features charm squares from the Quilt Minnesota shop hop, all subjects related to Minnesota--monarchs, loons, canoes, dragonflies, Paul Bunyan & Babe the Blue Ox, blueberries, chickadees, morel mushrooms, lighthouses, lakes, etc.⤵️
Great job, Quilter Bonnie!!!

Now, our younger daughter is a student at Excel College in Black Mountain, NC. They're located in the middle of the destruction from Hurricane Helene. Fortunately no one from their college was hurt and no buildings were damaged. With 100 young strong students and plenty of extra space, they've become a distribution center for needed goods and have helped out in their area. Here's a 2-minute video about their college from one of the TV stations:

  1. Is that your daughter being interviewed? Kudos to those students! They are doing exactly what a Christian college has at the heart of their purpose. It IS overwhelming, and I tear up every time I read about or see a video. I can't fathom what those folks have gone through and just pray abundance for them.
I LOVE the Feed Sack-Good Works fabrics on those quilts!! Beautiful quilting, as always. :)

  6. Great job on Quilter Bonnie's quilts. She has a fun assortment here, the GE quilt & mini from the scraps. The Christmas one is fun, too, as is the one from the MN hop. I love that you get to try new pants on her quilts and we get to see them!

  7. Great work from Quilter Bonnie. They are all delightful quilts. Lovely colour combos, too.
Good to know all is well with your daughter. There has been so much damage in that area. We were there in May, and saw how beautiful it was before Helene. Our granddaughter is at Converse in Spartanburg and it sounds like a similar situation.
Congratulations to the college for all their wonderful work.

  14. So thankful your daughter and her fellow students and faculty are safe and I think it is absolutely AWESOME how they are helping the community. Still so much devastation and people missing. I know God will bless them in their efforts. So glad to say our two families are all OK and even have potable water back this week! Your quilting is lovely on the four quilts. I really like those pantos but the first is my favorite! I may have to go buy that one!! Thanks for linking up with Monday Musings!
