Kyle's Kwilts x 3

Kyle is my co-worker at the local quilt shop, Quilt Cove. Kyle has worked there 20+ years and works the shift after me, so we usually get to catch up with each other. But the quilt shop closing date has been announced now--November 30th. For all employees, last week was our last week to work! The owner is running the shop alone for the final 2 weeks. The shop is at 40% off.

  2. All Squared Up is a stunner. I thought it was going to be my favorite, then I kept scrolling! They are all just beautiful. I especially love the fabrics in the VR quilt, and that flannel print is so cute. Tell her I am impressed! Your quilting, of course, is the icing. :)

  5. I'm sorry to know your quilt shop is closing, Nancy. As is my LQS, yours is probably not just a place to get beautiful fabric, but also a place to meet up with quilty friends and get lots of inspiration. Kyle's quilts are beautiful, and your quilting finishes them off perfectly!

  6. Well, that's a bummer. It's a problem all over. I think in the next year or so we will experience higher prices on imported things. Does fabric come from other countrys or does lots of it come from here? I just bought some fabric at my LQS and it said made in Japan!

  8. How sad for the quilt shop, and all the employees' work. Nothing to celebrate, but I hope you had a good time together last week. Kyle's quilts are wonderful! I love All Squared Up, such a stunning quilt, and the Malachite pattern is perfect with all these swirls and rounds. Fun Flowers is fun too! Thank you for sharing these beautiful quilts and your fabulous quilting.

  10. I always like to see what you are doing. I particularly like the use of Malachite on All Squared Up. It looks terrific on the back. 2nd favorite is Summer Time Fun. I'm sorry to hear the quilt shop is closing. We've had two local quilt shops closed in the last 5 years or so. 1 opened up after the 1st one closed. Now the only quilt shops left are an hour plus away. Sigh. Maybe I don't need more fabrics....

  15. What wonderful quilts... I would love to recreate the first one... this sea of colors is exactly mine :-)))
It's so sad that your quilt shop is closing. We don't have much of a quilting tradition and I have to travel far to buy fabrics. I always don't have enough fabric :-)) I've also just started with quilts and the like... my first binding is currently in the works and two more are waiting for me...
    Wishing you all the best.
    Hug from Viola
(p.s. when I'm done I'll put it in the blog my quilt)
    Thank you for your fotos.
