I'm joining in the Stripology Quickies Quilt Club this year, making 12 of the quilts from the new Stripology Quickies book, over a year's time!
This is our first quilt, Lilo!!! The cutting out video was released on September 25th and the teaching video, on October 9th.
Quilt Info #1:
Pattern: Lilo from Stripology Quickies Club by GE Designs
Fabrics: Rustic Gatherings from Primitive Gatherings for Moda
Size: 91" x 100"
Batting: Quilters Dream Wool
Thread: Glide--Chestnut
Here's the original pack of half yards I started with, "Rustic Gatherings" from Primitive Gatherings. I took out most of the cream background prints, and added a few coordinating prints and blenders from my collection.⤵️
The pattern said we would get 8 squares per half yard, but the Primitive Gatherings fabric was so generously wide that I got 10 squares from each half yard! So I decided to go for a size between Full and Queen!
Some of the prints⤵️I got a 108" wide flannel backing from Joann. It was on sale for $10/yard, and very soft, too! I did prewash it before quilting, since flannel tends to shrink more than regular quilt fabric.⤵️
Finished in time for Thanksgiving!!! Also, the teaching video for the second quilt, Skyler, comes out today--time to start the next quickie quilt!
Now, I did have some extra blocks leftover. I made them into a table runner, using an alternative layout.
Quilt Info #2:
Pattern: Lilo from Stripology Quickies Club by GE Designs
Fabrics: Rustic Gatherings from Primitive Gatherings for Moda
Size: 18" x 55"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Chestnut
This fun quilting design looks like a quilt star!!!⤴️⤵️
Note the ombre backing fabric from Japan, which I also used for the binding.⤴️
In use, along with our tablecloth from the country of Georgia!⤵️
Gudrun of GE Designs put together a video of 74 Lilo quilts! Watch below, starting from minute 38:50! ( It's about 3 1/2 minutes long.) You can see my Lilo, loaded on my longarm, at 39:10! It's fun to see so many different Lilo quilts at once!!!
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy
