"Ana" is the 4th quilt in the Stripology Quickies Club QAL and here's my version!!!
Quilt Info:
Pattern: Ana from GE Designs
Size: 60" x 83"
Batting: Quilters Dream Request
Thread: Glide--Thyme
Pantograph: Taj Mahal ⤵️ from Urban Elementz
This is the 3rd time I recently used a velour blanket for the backing, so I wanted quilting that is fairly open. Taj Mahal is one of those I turn to in this case, and for minkee backing, as well. It's both modern and more open!Self-binding is the easiest and coziest way to go when you have velour or minkee backing!!! This blanket is fairly thick so I trimmed the backing to 2", turned over twice and stitched in place. I hand sew the corners as they're too thick for the sewing machine.
And the finished quilt!!! I'm loving the vibrant colors!!!⤵️Elsa is the next quilt in the club--it's made from the cut-offs from the Ana quilt, so Ana and Elsa were cut out at the same time! I'm working on piecing my Elsa now, between quilting customer quilts and other responsibilities.
Here are all 12 quilts in the club!⤵️ They're pictured in order, so Ana is on the 1st line, 4th photo and Elsa is on the 1st line, 5th photo.
Here are my first four QAL quilts: Lilo, Skyler, Svana and Ana. I made 2 versions of Lilo and Skyler.⤵️
This is the release schedule we're following.⤵️ Quilters often say on Gudrun's Quilt Crew Facebook page, that the hardest part is deciding which fabrics to use!!!
One last photo, on DD2's bed.⤵️ She's away at college, so I'm borrowing her cozy room for staging!
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful finish. I have yet to try pinky or other fabrics for backs. But someday I will have to get over my fear of the unknown. LOL
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be popping out quilts all the time. Ana looks beautiful -- especially on DD2's bed! She might want to keep that one.
ReplyDeleteThat is a fun quilt, Nancy! From the thumbnail photo, I was thinking the blocks looked like acorns, and then I zoomed in and saw squirrels. Love that fabric! I can tell your DD2 has a mom who is a quilter - she definitely has a very cozy room filled with quilted things!
ReplyDeleteFun Fact: She made everything in the room herself except the quilt and rug--quilted wall hangings, lampshade, pillows and table runner!!!
DeleteWhat a pretty finish, and I love how you fussy cut those squirrels.
