This year, for Rainbow Scrap Challenge, I'm making jelly roll race baby quilts for Bundles of Love, a local charity that delivers bundles of newborn items to families in need.
March is the yellow month for RSC, a lesser used color in my collection. Still, I had enough strips to put together 2 baby quilts!
Size: 40" x 50"
Batting: Scrap
Thread: Glide--Cornflower
A sunshine-y pantograph for a sunshine-y quilt!!!⤴️These are leftover binding strips, scraps from the edge of quilt backing that gets cut off, and just plain scraps! I follow Bonnie Hunter's tip--if you have older fabrics that aren't your favs anymore, mix them in with new, fun fabrics for a fresh look!!!
Quilt Info #2:
Size: 40" x 50"
Batting: Scrap
Thread: Glide--Cornflower
Another sunshine-y pantograph--Tilted Sunny Clams!!!⤴️I save the longest strips to use for scrappy binding!⤵️
This backing got a couple of add-ons!⤵️
The quilting has more definition after going through the washer and dryer!⤵️
Here are the RSC quilts I've made this year so far: 2 pink, 5 blue and 2 yellow!⤵️
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

ReplyDeleteSo you had enough yellow to make 2 quilts! We always manage if we dig deep enough. They are delightful and you are lucky to have a mission so close to home.
ReplyDeleteWow you are really cranking out the quilts, and they are all so pretty. Love that basket of cuddly, quilts!
ReplyDeleteThose look great, Nancy! I love looking at the variety of prints and shades of yellow that you were able to use in your strips. That gives me an idea for one of my current projects!
ReplyDeleteSunny yellow quilts to brighten your snowy weather. So many pretty quilts to cuddle sweet newborns. The quilting is great.
ReplyDeleteThe yellow quilts are very fun and sure to brighten someone's day! :)
ReplyDeleteSo true about pairing some older prints with newer prints to freshen the palette! I like your yellow quilts and your quilting panto is perfect! Another impressive example of using up scraps!!! Well done!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteWhat a great job you are doing with your scraps. Glad to know about the sunshiney pantos - they are fabulous. The collection of quilts in that bag is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThese quilts are gorgeous, Nancy. I love seeing them arranged in the basket. So pretty. They will be well loved. Happy quilting. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteLove the Tilted Sunny Clam design. Way to use up those old yellow scraps for a good cause. They all look so cute in the basket together.
ReplyDeleteI do like your idea to make these baby quilts, and I'm very impressed at the number you have made so far. Just might have to think about your idea for next years RSC. I've still got lots of projects hanging around from previous years, do I'm only doing a couple of simple blocks this year, and hopefully, a few finishes too.
ReplyDeletePS, I like the way you are doing these in one colour, rather than multiple colours all mixed up.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you can bless families of newborns with a lifetime gift of a baby quilt!! Love to you as you continue to bless the world. The quilts that you made for JOEE lessons in orphanages continue to be used. Thank you! ruth@joee.jp
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what you were going to do with yellow. It is a tricky colour sometimes. But you obvious had enough to achieve lovely results. Great backing combos, too.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for your RSC projects. Some of mine end up as donations but I don't plan it that way, so I'll have to remember that for next year.
ReplyDeleteHolee Cow!! that is A lot of amazing quilts!! I LOVE those pantos you used - they are Super Sunny!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are making wonderful progress with your scrappy strips! Thanks to your inspiration, I have now made two blue scrappy strip quilts and one yellow for my guild's charity program.
ReplyDeleteYou are really putting those scraps to use! Great job. Thanks for sharing in my Sew & Tell party.
ReplyDeleteSuch scrappy goodness! And the quilting patterns are perfect.
ReplyDeleteThose 2 quilting designs are awesome! Jelly Roll Race is really a perfect pattern for those scrappy strips rather than just thinking it has to be a jelly roll used.
ReplyDelete❤️
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea for making charity quilts because they are so fast and yet so pretty. And they use up scraps! Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

Those are some lovely yellow donations. Your quilting puts them over the top and I'm sure they will provide someone a much needed quilty hug.
ReplyDeleteI barely have any yellow scraps. I do have 2 gallon zipper bags of strips that were given to me when a friend and sewing buddy passed away. I need to sew them all together and make a charity top.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely that you're using up scraps for a good purpose. A 30 x 40 quilt is a nice size for a baby to use even into toddlerhood. Thanks for sharing your bundle of colored quilts. You've been busy and it shows!
ReplyDeletePretty baby quilts, and for a good cause! I love how you mix the strips, great tip from Bonnie too ;) I may copy you for my future baby quilts, love the simple yet interesting pattern! Thank you for sharing, and linking up.
ReplyDeleteSo fun to use up all your yellow scraps in that way! You've got a nice collection of quilts piling up! xx
ReplyDeleteIt's so great of you to use your pretty yellow scraps for charity quilts. They are both cute as can be! Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings.
ReplyDeleteThese quilts are absolutely beautiful, Nancy! I love how you’re not only creating something meaningful but also supporting such a great cause with Bundles of Love. The sunshine-themed pantographs are perfect for the yellow month of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!
ReplyDeleteFor a unique and heartfelt gift, you could consider giving someone a Love Neon Signs. It would make a wonderful addition to a nursery or a cozy home, adding a warm and personal touch to any space. Keep up the amazing work!
