I recently quilted my 500th quilt on my longarm! I've had my longarm for 6 years now. Here's a rundown of quilts number 499 and 500.
Quilt number 499 is a baby quilt that I quilted for our neighbor, Patty. She wanted a play quilt to have on hand for when their grandchildren come over:
Cute safari animals march across Patty's quilt! The quilting is Labyrinth:
Don't you love a multi-striped backing?! Patty is planning on using this stripe for the binding, too.
And quilt 500 is a quilt my DD2 made! She finished it over a year ago, so I'm glad to finally get it quilted.
I quilted freehand flower across this top:
The pattern is called Colour Me Happy, the cover quilt from Love Patchwork and Quilting magazine, Issue 46.
This is such a fun and easy quilt pattern. I made one myself--check out my version, gifted to my mother-in-law, here. I love how the blocks form a secondary star design where they come together:
She pieced together a backing from some fabrics gifted to her by my quilting cousin, Sue, for a bit of a reversible quilt:
And here's Susanna with her finished quilt! Susanna is going on an 11 month mission trip to 11 countries next year. If you're interested, I'm sure she would appreciate you checking out and following her blog. It can be found here: The World Race. You can see the route her squad will be taking here.
Thanks for viewing my quilts and quilting along with me! Now, on to the next 500 quilts!
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on reaching 500 quilts. The quilting is just beautiful as are the quilts. I 11 countries in 11 months sounds overwhelming to me, but she's young and I'm sure she will learn a lot.

ReplyDeleteYou must be thrilled! I never count things, but 500 quilts is impressive - and when you think, not many would have been able to do it in years past without these gorgeous machines. Look forward to watching the next 500.
ReplyDelete500...wow! You make me want to count how many I have done on my Juki sit down long arm. No way am I anywhere close to 500 but I only do my quilts and ones for family.
