The pattern I'm using is "Simple Gifts", from the mini book Fat Quarter Love, and uses 4 fat quarters. These quilts finish at 30" X 36". This month I worked on quilts 40 through 43:
I'm enjoying quilting these baby quilts 4 at a time:
Number 40:
And the four fat quarters that make up this quilt:

DD2 has helped me out by coordinating the fabrics in most of these quilts. The four fat quarters in this quilt:

The backing on these four quilts is this cute sunshine fabric. A piece of fabric 3 1/2 yards long will back all 4 quilts at once.
It has been 5 months since I've delivered quilts to Jack's Basket. On Sunday, October 21, Jack's Basket sent out a newsletter, including the need for more "blankets". I finished binding these four quilts, plus added labels that I had recently ordered from Dutch Label Shop to all the quilts I had ready to go:
They were planning on putting together baskets, but they commented about how they were out of books. Within a few minutes a woman arrived at their door delivering a box full of books.
Next they realized they were out of blankets, but decided they would put together the baskets and set them aside until some blankets arrived. Shortly thereafter we arrived with this stack of 22 quilts! They were amazed at the timely arrival.
Check out the charity quilt link-up and add your own link, at Slice of Pi Quilts on the last day of each month in 2018, where Laura is also working on 52 charity quilts in 2018.

ReplyDeleteWow, you are doing such a nice thing for this organization! How wonderful to have just what is needed at just the right time.
ReplyDeleteThere was a reason you hadn't delivered before, you were waiting for the 'need' time! Nice work as usual Nancy. They are lucky to have you making for them.
ReplyDeletethat is a cute pattern, you sure were busy
ReplyDeleteDD2 has a good eye for fabric combos! So many pretty fabrics, and I know it will bless the family who receives them. I love stories like that, needs filled at the right time. Your labels are great, by the way!
ReplyDeleteHaving DD2 pick out the fabric combos has saved me a lot of time, plus she had a blast doing it. Her basic recipe is: focus fabric + solid + light print + dark print, with some wiggle room.
DeleteSuch perfect timing! And once again you've put together a batch of simply darling little quilts. Hooray!
ReplyDeleteYour quilts are wonderful. How special that you were able to deliver in person and the need was there! It's always fills my heart how that works!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts, and your quilting is killer! I'm so glad you are doing this for Jack's Basket!
ReplyDeleteI love your quilts and generosity and DD2's formula for fabric selection.
ReplyDeleteI love these little quilts so much. They are so colourful and I love the quilting.
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing these quilts are! God sent you to deliver these quilts at just the right time! I love the little Grace and Peace labels too.

These are looking so good. Modernish is a great design on these quilts, too! I love that Jack's was blessed with things just when they needed them!
ReplyDeleteYou have done an amazing job keeping up with these quits during the year. And it looks like your time of the delivery was perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love the story about the timing! How absolutely wonderful to be a part of God's plan and to see it first-hand. I continue to be inspired by your diligence and commitment to your goal. You're doing great!
