𝌭 Dorothy's Modern Quilt 𝌭

My friend, Dorothy, made this beauty of a modern quilt! It's not her usual style. She loves dots--check out her quilt here, the second one on that blog post. This quilt top was a kit given to her by her niece, who also bought one for herself while they were on clearance at Bear Patch Quilting.

First of all, about that beautiful fabric. It's digitally printed:

For quilting, Dorothy chose Fascination, a large swirly design that looks great with the graphic lines of this design:

I love these colors! You can see the quilting best on the solid areas:

The quilted quilt:

Or does it go this way?! It's square, so it can be turned either way:

Dorothy found this fabulous batik of similar colors for the back:

Quilt Info:
Maker: Dorothy, from my home church
Size: 59" X 60"
Batting: Quilter's Dream Batting 80/20 Natural
Backing: Batik
Edge-to-Edge Design: Fascination
Thread: Glide--Lead Grey
Interesting Fact: Dorothy's husband, Chuck, was our high school boy's PE teacher, health teacher and wrestling coach when I was in high school. It still feels like I should call him Mr. Schultz!

Beautiful, Dorothy! Cutting edge modern!
Grace & peace!!! ~Nancy

  2. The pattern is very modern but using the large floral almost says traditional, what a great way to marry the two.

  3. This is a fun pattern, something different and so versatile. Funny, my maiden name is Schultz. I always perk up when I hear that name, but it's pretty common.
