Our DD1 is expecting a baby girl!!! This will be our first grandchild! DD1 especially loves llamas, so I made this baby quilt for her out of llama fabric and coordinates:
Pattern: Tessa by Kitchen Table Quilting
Size: 40" X 45"
Batting: Quilters Dream Batting 100% Cotton Request
Thread: Glide--Linen
Quilting: Cupid
Interesting Info: I made this as part of the Tessa QAL, held May 18 through June 19, 2020.
One tip that comes with the pattern is to make the same colors go the same direction, as much as possible. As you can see here ⤵️ I did that with the yellow fabrics:
I hosted a baby shower for her over the weekend, and gifted this quilt then! Here are a couple of additional items made for the shower. A Minkee/Cuddle large quilt, small blankie and double gauze swaddle blanket: ⤵️I'm glad to say we were able to hold the baby shower outdoors and had pleasant weather! We enjoyed seeing and talking with all the guests, and especially the guests of honor, the mother- and father-to-be!
Grace & peace!!! ~Nancy

Congrats!!! Great job on the llama quiltπ
ReplyDeleteLovely gift items and congrats!
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting time for you and your daughter. Great llama fabric in that special quilt. See you soon.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty quilt. I used that same color scheme a couple of years ago for a baby quilt for a niece. Grey and yellow and white - excellent pairings.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt! Your combination of fabrics is terrific! I didn't do the QAL, but I did get the pattern. Now I'm thinking I should go ahead and make one.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! Super cute quilt, I know it will get lots of love. Looks like a beautiful set up for the shower--I really like your garland of fabric strips! And the quilts on the other tables, too!
ReplyDeleteOh nice, congratulations for the new family addition! Lovely quilt π❤️
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
The quilt is lovely and it’s great that you could have a shower for her. Congratulations on your first grand child.
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, that is a really lovely quilt and the tip to make the blocks of the same colour go in the same direction is a really good one. It really helps to unify the quilt. I'm glad that you had a great baby shower! Take care.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have such an exciting event to look forward to! Congratulations! Absolutely love your llama baby quilt and enjoyed seeing the pictures of the shower.
ReplyDeleteLove your Llama quilt, plus love the minkee quilts and swaddle blanket. I have yet to try sewing with minkee, maybe one day. I may think on it, and try to make a small blankie quilt, like you have. Everything looks so fun for a new baby!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Nancy!!! Awesome quilt and some lovely gifts, too.
ReplyDeleteThe quilting looks great on this, too, Nancy — I love the design you chose. Is that Linen color of Glide more of a beige or a pale gray? It looks perfect on all of the different fabrics. Thanks for linking up with Long Arm Learning!
ReplyDeleteI am just now catching up on the blog Nancy, and am so happy for all of you!
