My small group, Scrapbaggers, did a gift swap this year for Christmas, a 12" quilt block! Many of our members have tabletop quilt stands that hold a 12" quilt block.
Here's the "Swoon" block I made for Marcia, who had requested a Spring theme and likes raspberry colors:
Quilt Info:
Size: 12" X 12"
Batting: Quilters Dream Poly
Thread: Glide--Linen
Quilting: Ikat 1 from Urban Elementz
Interesting Info: ~We drew names back a couple months. Everyone posted their likes on a group email. We had to secretly deliver our wrapped mini quilt before the party. Many of us did "ding dong ditch", or just delivered it to the person's door, and one person mailed hers.
~My pattern is for a 16" block, so I made two blocks, as a practice to make sure I did the math right for a 12" block.
I hung the purple "practice block" in my studio:
I put a hanging sleeve on the back of the one I gifted to Marcia, to hang from a 12" table top frame:
Ann made this "Punkin Patch" for Annemarie:
Tracy made this tulip quilt for Patty:
Mary made this spring block for Laura:
Debbie made this adorable snowman for Ann:
Marcia made this sweet Easter quilt for Tracy:
Patty made this amazing snowflake quilt for Mary:
Annemarie made this "Create" block for Sue:
Laura made this Christmas tree with stellar quilting for Deb:
And I am the lucky recipient of this wool applique "Believe" block from Sue:
It was a fun, simple way to do a quilt Christmas gift swap. Every block is a treasure!

ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful variety in the swap. Some of the seasonal ones are especially fun. I like the raspberry swoon, but I'd go weak at the knees for your "practice" one in personal preference. Thanks for sharing this mini show.
