Miniature🔗Linkety🔗Split

Here's my miniature Linkety Split!!!
Quilt Info:
Pattern: Linkety Split by Nancy Rink
Size: 12" X 18"
Batting: Quilters Dream Poly
Thread: Glide 60--Sterling
Quilting: Rondelle from Urban Elementz
Interesting Info: I cut the blocks down to half the original block size. The original quilt has 7 columns and 15 rows. My mini version has 4 columns and 6 rows.

For reference, here are the two quilt together:⤵️
I quilted "Rondelle" on Quilter Bonnie's Linkety Split, here. I love how hers looks and decided to quilt it on my own mini Linkety Split, in a highly shrunk down version: ⤴️⤵️
I pieced together all my leftover bits and strips to get this crazy back!?! Please don't tell me it would make a great quilt by itself, because it looks like a hot mess!!! But at least I was able to put to use all those leftover pieces.⤵️
I think this block should be renamed, "Oklahoma"!! What do you think?!
Now to figure out where to hang it...
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  1. Great little quilt, that quilting design gives the piece a lot of movement.

  3. As we say in Minnesota, oh fer cute! I'm not sure about why it should be called Oklahoma (it's early, and I'm still drinking my coffee, so a bit slow yet), but I do like this little mini!

    1. I didn't know you were in MN, Wendy! Whereabouts? I grew up in Wayzata, outside Mpls. I'll bet you have fluffy white stuff outside for your quilt photos right now...

  4. Nancy, your blog is dangerous to my bank account. Yet another fabulous quilting design that I cannot live without! :-). Cha-ching! Love that little mini quilt. You know, shrinking down a larger pattern is a great idea. My local chapter of the Modern Quilt Guild is doing an ongoing outreach project making placemats for Friendship Trays (formerly Meals On Wheels) and 12 x 18 seems like about the right size. I need to check the guidelines in the guild newsletter again. Thanks for all of your quilty inspiration!

  19. I love the mini and the quilting pattern you used! It looks so tiny on its bigger version. I really really love the back but I wouldn't tell you it should be a quilt top on its own. Oklahoma works!

  22. Nancy this is terrific! Years ago (actually the year 2000 - I remember because there were just shy of 2000 squares in the quilt) I made a Trip ARound the World. I saved all the leftover fabrics in a bag with the plan to make a mini of that quilt. Well....this reminded me of it. :-) Love the quilting motif too, and thanks for linking up with DrEAMi!
