Japanese🎌Dandy🍬Candy 1 & 2

This is my recent favorite table runner design, great for leftover bits of fabric!!!
Quilt Info:
Pattern: Dandy Candy by Pieced Tree Patterns
Size: 12" X 37"
Batting: Hobbs 80/20 Black
Thread: Glide--Sky
Quilting #1: Undulating Figure 8 ⤵️ from Intelligent Quilting
Quilting #2: Lotus from ⤵️ Leisha Farnsworth
Interesting Info: This table runner can be made from a "Candy Bar" pack (2 1/2" X 5"), leftover parts of a jelly roll, charms squares or just plain scraps, which is what I used!
My indigo prints were bought in Japan--some are antique, recycled from clothing and some are reproduction prints.
This one has the original patch on it! ⤵️
I have several yards of this Paula Nadelstern fabric that I used on the back⤵️. I loaded the entire yardage and quilted a baby quilt and both table runners on it. There's more left over, too.
I made two because they're so fast and fun to make--one to keep and one to gift!
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  1. The table runners are so pretty. You've inspired me to make some for myself, I have a drawer full of indigo prints calling to me.

  2. These are beautiful! When I first began quilting I made quite a few table runners because it was a good vehicle to practice FMQ. But I am getting tired of my selection. I think it is time to refresh the collection. These would be fun to make. Love the indigo fabrics you chose.

  7. What a great way to highlight your Japanese fabrics. Good idea to load a bunch of backing and quilt several items on it. I seldom have enough backing fabric to do that. But talk about a time saver!

  8. Fun, fast and easy! Do I spy another gingham quilt on that backing?

  14. I see what you mean about these gorgeous fabrics. It would be a shame to waste the smaller pieces so this table runner design is perfect. They are lovely.

  19. Nancy I just have to echo all the other comments and put in my 2 cents worth of praise as well. These are quite remarkable; I think there is something wonderful about blues with contrasting whites in such pretty fabrics.
