Interesting Info: Kyle made this quilt for her guest room! She made the regular-sized JoJo that uses 10" squares. I made a Lil' JoJo recently, link here, using 5" squares.
Kyle picked this rich blue Minkee for the back! ⤵️

I let my clients trim their own Minkee backs. My favorite way to finish a quilt like this is to bring the Minkee back to the front. Start by carefully trimming the batting at the edge of the quilt. Then cut the Minkee 1 3/4" from the edge of the quilt. Next turn the cut edge of the Minkee in twice and topstitch. This makes an edge as soft as the backing!!!

A very cute quilt. I really like the fabric line. The method you use for binding minkee works great. Lovely quilting as usual.

What a pretty quilt! I love the fabrics, they are so cheerful and yet calming. Minky backing is a great idea, it will really make it a great quilt to snuggle under and make a guest feel welcome. When you do the Minky binding, how do you fold the corner, Nancy?
ReplyDeleteI fold them in square, although it would be easy enough to miter them, as well!
DeleteVery nice! I added that design to my wish list.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful + Cuddly = Perfect Sleeping Companion :-D
ReplyDeleteKyle's quilt turned out beautifully. Great teamwork, Nancy!!
ReplyDeleteFun pattern and your quilting is beautiful. I love how the swirls shows on the backing. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt and love the backing that shows that beautiful quilting!!
ReplyDeleteLove the calm beach feel of this quilt. Great quilting on it...gives it so much texture!!
ReplyDeleteI just became acquainted with Stripology and bought one of her patterns. They are so easy to do. I love the combination of colors on this one. And that square on point really makes it so interesting.
ReplyDeleteKyle did a great job on her quilt and so did you. That Minky really shows off the quilting. I must say our weather is so hot and humid these days I can't even think of a heavy, warm quilt right now! Both JoJos look good.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours in this lovely quilt. The small squares remind me of tossed confetti.
ReplyDeleteHow very pretty!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fabrics. I too love to use the backing for the binding. Who doesn't love a soft, minky edge? Well done!
