My own quilt!!! I'm so glad I had time to finish this for autumn!!!
Quilt Info:
Pattern: Katie from GE Designs
Fabrics: Pumpkins and Blossoms from Figtree for Moda
Size: 56" X 72"
Batting: Quilters Dream Bamboo
Thread: Glide--Apricot Blush
Quilting: Featherweight ⤵️ from Longarm League
Interesting Info: I bought this layer cake at Brubaker Sewing & Furniture, (N14590 County Hwy O, Withee, WI 54498) a Mennonite general store that was part of the Wisconsin Quilt Shop Hop this year. Their regular price on layer cakes is $28.99! For comparison, most quilt shops price layer cakes between $40, and now going up to $45 per layer cake. Their Grunge fabrics are regular priced $7.50/yard. They keep their prices super low for their clientele!! And they weren't old fabrics, either--Pumpkins and Blossoms just came out in July, when I purchased it.
Another Mennonite general store in the same area participated in the Wisconsin Quilt Shop Hop, Pine Hollow, (N14085 Fernwall Ave., Stanley, WI 54768), with similar everyday low prices on their quilt fabrics. If you're ever near Eau Claire, Wisconsin, I recommend checking out these two super affordable quilt shops. And you just might find a deal or two on baskets or plants, too!!!

I used a "Fig Tree" extra-wide backing fabric, too--not from the same line, but very similar in color and style. ⤵️

Pumpkins & Blossoms is a beautiful fabric line! I added some blenders from my stash to bring my quilt up to the size I wanted.
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

ReplyDeleteI'm so delighted to see a quilt you've made for yourself, Nancy! You can't go wrong with Fig Tree, it's such a pretty line of fabric! Looks like a fun pattern and, of course, I love your quilting! Nice finish! Thanks for the heads up on the two shops!
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt! It looks like an easy pattern to make, but it shows off the fabrics beautifully! Love Fig Tree fabrics!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the info on the two Mennonite shops. I lived in Milwaukee, WI for many years, but rarely made it to that part of the state. Maybe I can check them out next time I visit.
Stunning, and a wonderful bargain fabric too. A lovely mix of colour and tone.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful your get to quilt your very own creation! 'Katie' is a gorgeous finish! Beautiful fabrics and of course your quilting is superb!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt. Love Fig Tree fabric lines and colors. The bargain price is very attractive--I'd certainly snap up some fabric there.
ReplyDeleteThis is really beautiful! Such perfect autumnal colors! The pattern looks so fun and I could tell immediately it was a Gudrun Erla design. How nice that you're keeping this one!
ReplyDeletePretty finish. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteAutumn? It conveys a very summery vibe to me. Whatever the season it is a beauty and you took some lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, that a lovely quilt. I am always drawn to the type of pattern since it looks like a hand weaving pattern. It's a beauty. Take care.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabrics, I love these colors ;) What a gorgeous quilt you made, Nancy!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your own quilt, with pretty quilting, and linking up with Patchwork & Quilts!
Such a pretty finish. So excited for you, being able to finish a quilt of your own! Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming that's a disappearing nine patch but so impressed with the cut off center. Love it. And what a wonderful job. you'll be enjoying that quilt for many years and remembering how happy you were when you finished it.
ReplyDeleteHi Paula! There's no email address associated with your comment, so I'm replying here. This is not a disappearing 9-patch. It's made with a stripology ruler and the "Katie" pattern by GE Quilt Designs. And yes, I will enjoy it for many years to come! Thank you!
DeleteYour quilt is gorgeous and the quilting looks great also. Great job!
