Quilt Info:
Fabrics: Batik charm packs
Size: 57" X 80"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Tar Heel
Pantograph: Eddie's Edge to Edge ⤵️ from Quiltable
Regina wanted swirly quilting. I used a pantograph unimaginatively named "Eddie's Edge to Edge". I think it should more appropriately be named "Cinnamon Roll Swirl"!!!
Interesting Info: Elle lives in Texas with her family. While staying with Grandma Regina last summer, she expressed interest in making her own quilt! She picked out some batik charm squares and was on her way!!! Elle will be visiting again soon, so Regina wanted to get it quilted with binding on, to present it to Elle in person!!!
The swirl theme of this quilt carries through in some of the batik patterns, the quilting and the backing, which I also used to bind the quilt with!!!
A quilt Ellie can snuggle under, enjoy and be very proud of!!!

ReplyDeleteGrandmother Regina, has to be so very proud.
Nancy youfound the perfect design for quilting it. Wonderful
Simple designs make great quilts! I love that she was only 11, next generation of quilters. Love your name for the panto, sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteI love what Elle did - great colors and pattern and backing. You are so right about the choice of the panto and its new name. I seem to be craving a cinnamon roll now!
ReplyDeleteElle did a great job on her first quilt, choosing fun fabrics and design. I like her choice of swirlies for the quilting design, too! She's going to enjoy that quilt for years to come!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a beautiful quilt, a quilter is born ! I love the renamed Cinnamon Roll Swirl quilting design ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing and linking up!
Simple quilts can be so stunning. Elle did a beautiful job with the piecing.
ReplyDeleteI am Regina, Elle's Mimi. I am so proud of Elle and how she finished this quilt. She loved using the charm pack and the wall board in trying to fit the colors together just so. To be honest, a little frustrated at times trying to keep those yellows far enough apart but she succeeded! She learned to keep the seams straight with the sashes and each square. I think sometimes sewing skips a generation because she uses her Mothers' sewing machine that was gathering cobwebs in the closet :) She really wants to stick with it which I love. Thank you Nancy for the wonderful longarming you did with 'cinnamon roll.'
ReplyDeleteGo Elle!!! Very nice quilt
ReplyDeleteWow, 11 years old! That is wonderful. What a great way to start with quilting. The colours are wonderful. The swirls in the quilting look great and I do like the backing, too.
