Gudrun @ GE Designs is collecting quilt blocks, tops or finished quilts using her Hope quilt pattern for distribution to Ukrainian refugees!!! The colors are blue and yellow, the colors of the Ukraine flag. Here's a quilt made by my sister, Quilter Bonnie, and me!!!
Quilt Info:
Makers: Quilter Bonnie and Me!!!
Pattern: Hope from GE Designs
Fabrics: Hope For Ukraine Mini Mystery Stash Builder Bundle + others from my collection
Size: 57" x 77"
Batting: Quilters Dream 80/20
Thread: Glide--Egg Nog
Pantograph: Simply Sunflowers ⤵️ from Intelligent Quilting
Shortly after the war in Ukraine began, Intelligent Quilting made this digital pantograph available for FREE, featuring Sunflowers, the national flower of Ukraine! It is still available on their homepage. I think it's smashing!!! Interesting Info: Gudrun is putting the profits from the sales of her Hope quilt pattern and her Ukraine Mini Mystery Stash Builder Bundle toward the program--backings, battings and shipping. You can find all the info on the program at Quilters for Ukraine.
Close-ups of several of the blocks...The checkered portion of the backing, and binding came from Japan.
The quilting shows up so clearly on this portion of the backing!!!
I delivered the quilt directly to the GE Designs warehouse! ⤵️ Here I am pictured on the right, with Nancy of GE Designs on the left!!!The quilts being collected by GE Designs are going to Hello Cotton for distribution to Ukrainian refugees. There's still time to join in! GE Designs is collecting blocks and also asking for volunteers to assemble blocks, longarm quilters to quilt tops and stitchers to put the binding on quilts. Find out more details at Quilters For Ukraine. I have volunteered to do quilting on my longarm, so be watching for more Quilts for Ukraine on my blog!!!

This is one of the most beautiful Ukraine quilts I've seen so far. I really like the combination of the sunflower panto with the straight lines of the string blocks, and the way you used a range of blues and yellow/golds to create a sense of depth. Did you use foundations for the string blocks or just piece strips together and then subcut them into squares? I enjoy seeing you in the picture, too!
