September's Rainbow Scrap Challenge color is light blue!!! Angela at SuperScrappy posts the color every month.
The pattern I'm using this year is "Scrap Happy Rainbow Connection", by Amy Smart, available on her website or from Love Patchwork & Quilting magazine, Issue 85, where I first spotted it. ⤵️
My RSC block count for 2022:
January: Red 9 blocks
February: Aqua/Teal 21 blocks
March: Yellow/Gold 16 blocks
April: Pink 18 blocks
May: Sage/Forest Green 32 blocks
June: Bright/Dark Blue 24 blocks
July: Purple 31 blocks
August: Orange 16 blocks
September: Light Blue 13 blocks
Total so far: 180 blocks
I'm going for enough blocks to make 4 throw size quilts by the end of the year, which is 192 blocks. Just one more color month to go, October, which looks like it will be light green by default! November and December are for assembly and quilting.
You'll find a lot of rainbow quilt inspiration at the Scrap Happy Saturday link party!!!

What "only" 13! Well, otherwise you wouldn't have blocks left to make for October ;)) And I am looking forward to you puzzeling the four quilt designs together. I think I was already excited in February - so only one more month to wait sounds a lot nearer. xo
ReplyDeleteGorgeous collection of blues! Thanks for linking up with the Put Your Foot Down weekly link party.
ReplyDeleteThe rainbow X blocks are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOMG those blocks are looking fabulous. I love looking at the closeups of your fabric. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blues. Isnt it great that you will be able to make four quilts from these blocks which you have been happily stitching each month.
ReplyDeleteSo many gorgeous blocks, Nancy! It will be an awesome medley of quilts when you are done with October! I bet you have already sewn up a few!
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be so much fun seeing the completed quilts, a rainbow of colorful beauties.
ReplyDeleteThese are going to make some gorgeous quilts. Hum, I wonder if light green will be the color next month. I' think I have 27 blocks done now so should end up at 30 blocks. I wonder how I will set them...
ReplyDeleteYour blue blocks are looking fabulous. It is so fun to see the variety of fabrics that you used. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteWOW you have a pretty collection of blocks, Blocks for 4 quilts!!! Isn't it great!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat pattern and a cool way to use up a lot of strips of fabrics. Your blocks looks beautiful and happy.
ReplyDeleteYou've chosen such fun blocks for this, and like the others, I'm looking forward to seeing how you layout the quilt tops. I am confident they will look amazing! Well done!
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing these blocks each month, Nancy - they're going to make some beautiful quilts! Do you have a technique for getting them to sew up squarely in the correct size? I made these same blocks recently and every single one of them was off by 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch. It happened when I added the triangle corners. Maybe I should have oversized them a bit?
ReplyDeleteLovely new blocks! I love that you allow us to have a closer look at your wonderful fabrics. Some remind me of china, some are pretty Japanese fabrics, and I love these cute musician cats ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing, and linking up today!
Your light blue blocks are really pretty! Such a nice range of colors, prints, and values. Funnily, I recognized an old Fossil Fern print among them. Remember when those first came out? Musta been in the early 2000s. I admire you for continuing to make blocks for this scrap challenge. Your finished quilt(s) are gonna be a knock-out!
ReplyDeleteTerrific light blue blocks! Wow! What a great variety of light blue scraps!! I had several color ways of the fossil print fabric . . .I still love it! Those throws are going to be gorgeous.--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
