Board & Batten QAL🪡 x 2

This quilt pattern is such a great design--made from charm squares--that I made 2 versions for the quilt along!!!
Cheryl @ Meadow Mist Designs has been hosting a QAL (quilt along) for her new pattern, Board & Batten. It started January 4th and runs through March 1st, when Cheryl will be hosting a quilt parade! Here are my two quilts!!!

Quilt Info #1:
Maker: Me!
Pattern: Board and Batten by Meadow Mist Designs
Size: 40" x 48"
Fabric: Charm Pack--E. Vive's Mix & Match Club 21 Contempo for Benartex
Batting: Quilters Dream
Thread: Glide--Cream
Pantograph: Butterfly Garden ⤵️ from Intelligent Quilting
Don't you love Butterfly Garden on this quilt?!!!
Interesting Info: I used a charm pack I won from Jennifer @ The Inquiring Quilter, plus a few extra blenders to make this quilt!!!
The back is a pieced assortment of Japanese fabrics--dragonflies, balls and cherry blossoms.⤵️
I'll be donating this quilt to Quilts For Kids--a new LQS is a drop off point for QFK, Wildflower Quilt Co.
Quilt Info #2:
Maker: Me!
Pattern: Board and Batten by Meadow Mist Designs
Size: 57" x 65"
Batting: Quilters Dream
Thread: Glide--Smoke
Pantograph: Buttercup ⤵️ from Sew Shabby Quilting
I love this quilting design--Buttercup!!!⤴️⤵️
Interesting Info: I made this quilt from 5" squares I had in my drawer. These are Japanese indigo fabrics, and white/cream fabrics that were scrap size and I cut into 5" squares. I also cut my scraps into 10" squares, 2 1/2" strips and 2 1/2" squares.
Close-ups of some of the Japanese indigo prints! ⤴️⤵️
Pieced back of Japanese prints. ⤴️
Love the movement in this quilting design!!! ⤴️
This was a great QAL and a super fun pattern to make!!! I highly recommend it, whether you have a charm pack or scraps from your collection! Thanks, Cheryl!!!

Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  3. I didn't know about the QFK drop off at Wildflower - thank you for that info! Both quilts are pretty - are you keeping the blue/white one? It's my favorite!

  6. These are both lovely quilts, though my favorite is the brightly-colored one that you're donating. Bless you for that! I admire how you seem to so easy whip up a quilt - or two! - and make them with such precision. Your longarm quilting is beautiful, and make for perfect finishes. Great job!

  12. Great quilts! I am surprised how well I like the second quilting design - it is a flower but in a more modern and straight way. Great mixture ;)
