Strip Twist🌪️SAL

Gudrun @ GE Designs hosts a strip along every Spring!!! Here's my version of this year's strip along--Strip Twist!!!
Quilt Info:
Pattern: Strip Twist by Gudrun @ GE Designs
Size: 53" x 68"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Denim
Pantograph: Contour Cocoon ⤵️ from Karlee Porter
"Contour Cocoon" adds movement and another layer of texture to this quilt!!!
Interesting Info: You can still go through all the sew along teaching videos at your own pace for free, through Gudrun's blog here: Strip Along 2023.
I went through my scrap strip drawer and pulled all the Japanese strips I could find. Here are some close-ups:
If the strip was too short and I had 2 strips, I pieced them together to get a long enough strip.
No duplicates--one square per print.
When I ran out of Japanese prints I pulled blenders to fill in. I ended up using 75% Japanese fabrics and 25% blenders--a nice mix!
For the back, I followed a pattern from Kelly @ My Quilt Infatuation's new book, Perfectly Pieced Quilt Backs, which is being released in June. This book is amazing!!! Come back mid-June when Kelly's book is released for the reveal of this and the three other quilt backs I've made from Kelly's new book! ⤵️
You can see 200+ different versions of Strip Twist starting at 10:50 on Gudrun's video, below, including table runners, quilts of all sizes, flower versions and many color variations!!! (It lasts for less than 5 minutes):

What an easy, fun quilt to make!!! Got a jelly roll? Or some extra strips? I recommend it!!!

Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  1. Lovely quilt! Your Japanese fabrics are so beautiful. They blend well with the other fabrics you chose. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

  3. I love seeing all the Japanese scraps and how great they all look sewn together in this pattern. The pantograph looks great, too. I love having another "tease" for the back book blog hop!
