DrEAMi = Drop Everything And Make it
I enjoy making these little minis from leftover scraps of quilts I'm working on!!! These scraps are leftover from my Bee Grateful quilt I made earlier this month.
What I especially enjoy is quilting them in designs that I've scaled in micro-mini size!!! I lined all three up on one backing and worked on them one by one. ⤵️
Quilting: Sangria from Apricot Moon ⤵️Quilting: The Bees Knees from Mistletoe Quilting Co. ⤵️
Quilting: Scottish Plaid from Urban Elementz ⤵️

Interesting Info: I first made some of these with leftover scraps while making Strippy Dippy Table Runners, as part of GE Designs' Virtual Quilt Retreat in 2022. Below are my original five: ⤵️ They range from 6" x 8" to 9" x 11".
They're easy to make from 1 1/2" strips: I sewed four 1 1/2" strips together and cut them into 2 1/4" segments. I got two segments per strip set and four different strip sets.
I wanted this one ⤵️ a little longer for my mini quilt stand, and added one extra row to make it 4 bricks across by 9 rows down.

Very clever to size your quilting design to mini, I really like the chicken wire one.
ReplyDeleteLove the quilting on these minis, the Bees Knees is adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteYour mini quilts are indeed "dreami" . I love the idea of drop everything and make it especially when you end up with adorable fun quilts like these and you get to use up your scraps. Aaah the bee quilts. Sigh. Happy quilting, Nancy.
ReplyDeleteLovely mini quilting patterns, they look very pretty on these small quilts. I'm totally in love with the Sangria pattern!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your lovely collection of mini quilts, and linking up!
What pretty pieces! I really like the different quilting designs on each of them. It's great that you can lay out the little tops like that, and then choose a different pattern for each. Such a quick way to a finish. You make me feel like I'm slogging through my own projects, as I have begun quilting two quilts, and have two more in the queue. It will take me through the summer to get them done. Enjoy and appreciate that you can quickly accomplish much!
ReplyDeleteWell done! Great way to use your scraps! So cute! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice idea, making minis and table runners from scraps! Love the honeycomb quilting on the bee quilt on the stand!
ReplyDeleteThose are so pretty and fun, Nancy! I love the black, gray, and yellow color combination, and the bee prints. Cute little DrEAMis!
ReplyDeleteI love these and the micro quilting. Did you have to do anything special in resizing on the computer? use a different thread/needle? You always do such fun little projects!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute little mini using all the "bee" prints.
ReplyDeleteThese are so much fun. I love the one on your little quilt stand! We were thinking alike, colorwise!
