I'm doing the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC) in 2024! It's a great way to work through your scraps and turn them into quilts! March's RSC color is purple! Angela at Super Scrappy posts a new color every month.
This year I'm making butterflies from my spare stash of 5" squares! Some are old, some are new! I'm using the Hope Takes Flight free pattern from Robert Kaufmann. Let me know if you have any of these fabrics in your collections:
My 2024 Rainbow Scrap Challenge block count:
January: Dark/Bright Greens 16 blocks
February: Red 16 blocks
March: Purple 16 blocks

ReplyDeleteI love these butterflies, Nancy. After seeing your blocks earlier I printed the pattern . Your purple butterflies are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou have an amazing range of purple fabrics and what better use than to turn them into butterflies. I can picture your studio covered with Rainbow butterflies. Oh such joy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great variety of purple scraps. They make a lovely flock of butterflies.
ReplyDeleteYour butterflies are fun in every color, Nancy! I don't see any purples that I recognize, but I wish I had some of them - so pretty. Looking forward to seeing your Villa Rosa quilt project!
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern for using up charm squares! I don’t have any of the purple fabrics in my stash but I do have the black speckled fabric in the butterfly body.
DeleteThe butterflies are so cute! And I do see some purples that can be found in my stash or scrap bin too. I also see some I wish I had. LOL I love this idea for using charm squares.
ReplyDeleteI have that Libs Elliott print in orange (of course!) - you have a nice purple stash!
ReplyDeleteWonderful group of purple fabrics...I spy one or two that have been in my stash. March is flying by!
ReplyDeleteI spy one purple that was in my stash. . .there might be a string or a square left of it; but, a recognizable amount was used long ago, Those butterflies are beautiful in every color way!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects

ReplyDeleteYour assortment of purples is wonderful! Happy hopping along with Villa Rosa this week.
ReplyDeleteGreat butterflies! I think I'll mosey over and get that pattern. Out of 16 beautiful purple fabrics I only have the upper right hand corner one, the one with scrolling lines through it. And, I know it is an oldie but goodie. I think I need to find a piece to use in my March RSC blocks.
ReplyDeleteIt always amazes me how we quilters have so many different fabrics in our stash from others. Your purple butterflies are lovely. Such a lovely pattern.

ReplyDeleteI love the fabrics you chose for Twinkle. That is the design I'll be making using batiks. I just need to decide if it will be a white/cream background or a black or dark blue. Thank you for participating in this great blog hop. jpbnaldenatgmaildotcom.
ReplyDeleteThey are cute butterflies! Purple is not my fave color but I do like a nice dark eggplant, and I have found that a touch of purple among my fall colors really looks great so I usually just have a small amount but don't see any here that I have. :o)
ReplyDeleteI really like your purple butterflies! For some reason, I have very few pirples in my stash, and injoyed looking at all your pretty purple fabrics. Thanks for sharing, Judy
