Here's my Holly quilt, the 9th quilt in the Stripology Quickies Club!
Quilt Info:
Pattern: Holly from GE Designs
Size: 42" x 56"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton, White
Thread: Glide--Mint
When using Minkee, I love to turn the Minkee backing to the front for a soft, easy binding! After quilting, I carefully trim the batting off at the edge of the quilt. Try not to cut into the Minkee! Then cut the Minkee backing 1 1/4" from the edge of the quilt, turn it over twice and topstitch! I lengthen the stitch length a bit for this topstitching, too.
Trimming at 1 1/4" worked great for a baby quilt. I would use a 1 1/2" width for a throw size quilt.
When you look at the entire quilt, you can see a friendship star and a pinwheel block.⤴️ So it's rather surprising that the quilt block is the 4-patch you see below, consisting of 8 rectangles. ⤵️ It's all in the color placement and orientation of the diagonal slice. My pink blocks are A blocks and my light green blocks are B blocks.

Minkee binding and label attached.⤴️ I order my labels from Dutch Label Shop.
I love this mint green Minkee! And I love how quilting shows up beautifully on a smooth Minkee backing!!!

Quinn is the next quilt up! The teaching video comes out on September 3rd, so I've got a little breathing/quilting room between now and then!!!
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy
