My finished Winny quilt, quilt number 11 in the year long Stripology Quickies Club!!!
This is my 2nd Winny. I made my first during the Stripology Virtual Retreat in March, 2024, when Winny was exclusively designed for that retreat. Later that year, Gudrun included the pattern in her book, Stripology Quickies. She asked me if she could include a photo of my Winny from the retreat! Here it is pictured in the book--mine is the large quilt in the photo! ⤵️ I used fabrics from the retreat but changed the background fabric.
Here's a collage I made of Winny quilts I saw online. ⤵️ This is a very popular quilt pattern!
My Quilt Info:
I used Japanese fabrics again, as I did in my Quinn quilt and my 2nd version of the Skyler quilt.
This is a super fun quilt to make!!!
The cream background fabric has a Japanese motif, also, although it's hard to see in these photos. I used a Japanese style Baptist fan print for the binding.⤵️
For backing, I used the second half of a duvet cover from IKEA. ⤵️ I used the first half on my Frankie quilt. It's so handy that duvet covers have two patterned sides to use for quilt backs! Plus the pillowcases can be used for the backs of table runners and mini quilts.
I used several colors of Japanese "tsumugi" solids for the bars across the rectangles. "Tsumugi" is a fabric with slub and texture.Below are all 12 of Gudrun's quilts in the Stripology Quickies Club.⤵️
Here are my Stripology Quickies quilts to date. ⤵️ I did 2 versions of the second quilt, Skyler, which is why I have 12 photos for the 11 quilts we've done so far.
Pippa is the 12th and last quilt in the Stripology Quickies Club. The video releases on November 12th.
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

ReplyDeleteWinnie is lovely! The quilting is so interesting, I really like that design! Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great pattern. And the duvet fabric is just right. (Duvet covers and sheets are such good bargains.)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty - looks so pretty on your bed! Kudos to having your quilt featured in Gudrun's book - it is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that Gundrun included your quilt in her book, it looks fantastic in print. And I love that quilting motif from Sew Shabby Quilting - it compliments the piecing and prints beautifully in your quilt. Thanks so much for linking up with Favorite Finish!
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, I thought I should let you know that I'm receiving virus warnings on all of my "Follow It" feeds. I Googled your blog and got it without warnings. (And I love the quilts and inspiration!)
ReplyDeleteWinnie Isa beautiful design! I can see why it is a popular quilt to make. So fun to look at all of the pretty fabric in your blocks, too. I never think to use sheets or duvet covers for backings, but I should start looking for them - this one is perfect!
ReplyDeleteWinnie is just adorable, Nancy! The quilting is amazing and just pops! Beautiful job! Have a lovely day. Hugs
