2 Quilts & a Tree

Two quilts, two quilters and a lilac tree.
Quilt Info #1:
Maker: Missy
Pattern: Trip Around the World from Laundry Basket Quilts
Size: 54" x 62"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Graphite
Pantograph: Bountiful Feather ⤵️ from Sew Shabby Pantos
Missy used some lovely William Morris fat quarter prints for her Trip Around the World. The feather quilting shows up best on this photo.⤵️
Missy did a virtual Trip Around the World quilt class with Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts.
She used this "Strawberry Thief" William Morris print for backing. It's a favorite of hers and she has used it for backing before. It is gorgeous. She matched the seam on the back so well that it doesn't show. Missy shared her instructions with me on how to match a pieced seam, and I, in turn, wrote a tutorial here
Beautiful finish and fun that Missy did a virtual class with one of her favorite quilt designers!
Quilt Info #2:
Maker: Karen
Pattern: Carpenter's Star by Debbie Maddy
Size: 71" x 71"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Cream
Pantograph: Interstellar ⤵️ from Sew Shabby Pantos
Karen dug into her "collection" and came up with fabrics to make this giant 8-point star!
Swirls and stars quilting. Plus a flannel back makes it super soft. ⤵️
Very pretty! And great use of Karen's "collection".
This is the tree part. St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the last church my husband served as pastor, held a tribute to him on Sunday. They planted a lilac tree and made a special plaque in his memory. The Sunday School children sang, there were stories, poems and prayers. It was a lovely tribute.❤️✝️ I'm pictured here with some of the Sunday School children.⤵️
Grace and peace, Nancy

  1. The quilts are lovely. Trip Around The World always looks good, but this choice of fabric is a delight.
I always enjoy seeing the Carpenter's Star and seeing how the fabric is used. This is a lovely example.
Planting the lilac tree is a delightful memorial to your husband and the plaque is very special.
