Pattern: Honey Bouquet from Villa Rosa Designs
Size: 41" x 50"
Batting: Quilters Dream Cotton
Thread: Glide--Apricot Blush
I've been piecing some flannel together for backings. These are super kid friendly!
It's a mixure of orange, green and yellow, because orange by itself would be a lot.
Here's a close-up of the quilting--Skating. ⤵️
The white background prints with random items are from IKEA when they had regular weight cotton prints. ⤵️
Another pieced flannel back.
Orange binding gives a definite orange vibe.

My Honey Bouquet quilt count for 2026 is at 19. Many have gone to Bundles of Love. Recently, the mission group that my husband & I worked with for 20+ years in Japan has requested 30 baby quilts for Cambodia, so these will be going to Cambodia.
This final photo collage is compliments of PicCollage!

Your orange scraps look so pretty! I am particularly fond of that orange-winged bird on quilt #2. I like that skating quilting design.
ReplyDeleteYesterday I started pulling RSC scraps and got enough to start making my nine-patch and snowballs before I realized I was pulling pink and already did those! So I switched to orange - not nearly as pretty. ;)
Always so fun checking out what fabrics you are using in your donation quilts. Love those pieced backs too! I need to find some time to quilt up those I made over the winter, no big hurry tho'.
ReplyDeleteWow - 19 of these quilts already!! I just know they are going to be well loved by some little ones. Especially with the flannel backing.
ReplyDeleteVery nice quilts! The orange makes them bright and happy. I have no doubt the recipients will be very happy to get them. I know you said you get your cute flannel at Hobby Lobby, but my local Hobby Lobby doesn’t have all those cute prints. I probably need to check and see what they sell online,
ReplyDeleteThose are so great - and yay that they have a wonderful destination!
ReplyDeleteSuch darling quilts and the backings are just as delightful. Wonderful job, Nancy. Have a blessed day. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteThose are very happy quilts, Nancy! Such cute prints - like an I Spy. That skating panto is really neat, too - I can just imagine a little one following it around the quilt with their finger!
ReplyDeleteI love when orange is the RSC color. You made it up beautifully, though I had to smile at your statement "...because orange by itself would be a lot." If you could see the 23'-long orange wall in our living room. It's "a lot." Ha! I too like the modern look of the Teardrop quilting design, and those flannel backings are just yummy. It's so nice of you to make these to send to Cambodia! Wait. Don't I see a halo over your head?
ReplyDeleteThose will be great snuggles for some families! Big smiles for you as I know you're smiling while your stitching away on these projects. How about making it 20???
ReplyDeleteThese happy colored quilts will find wonderful homes in Cambodia. Fantastic! Both quilting designs, Teardrop and Skating are great designs for such multicolored quilts!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your lovely baby quilts, and knowing that they are going to help families in need.
ReplyDeleteMore happy and fun quilts, Nancy! These are so beautiful and I love the quilting too. They will be loved.
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous! Love the yellows & greens & oranges together.
ReplyDeleteThe kids will love these fun and cheerful quilts! I love the backings and the quilting of course ;) Your orange fabrics are pretty and interesting, there are so many details to discover! I love the little green leaves swirling against a checkered background ;) Thank you for sharing and linking up!
ReplyDeleteIt isn't easy putting bold prints made with bright colors together in the same quilt. You make it look easy.
ReplyDeleteThese are fun and I like your control of orange...not too much but enough to make it orange. I love that it is going to a mission group that you and Mahlon were affiliated with.
ReplyDeleteI like your orange quilts. They say orange without overpowering the quilt. Great finishes.
ReplyDeleteWhat bright quilts!!! They will be so loved.
ReplyDeleteThose are bright and happy quilts! The yellow and green does tone down the orange; but, all orange quilts can be fun too. At least, that is what an orange aficionado has demonstrated with her finishes! --TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteOrange is such a happy color, but it is overwhelming. Both baby quilts are bold and bright, but not overwhelming. Congrats on two fun finishes.
ReplyDeleteYour fabric selection for orange works so well in these quilts. So bright and lively.
ReplyDeleteGreat way to put together some backings as well. We always seem to have spare pieces left that can be used.
I am using a lot of Christmas pieces at the moment to makes Santa Sacks. It has also been a great way to use up a lot of those prints for younger children that I no longer need.
Orange makes these such happy quilts! They will bring a lot of love to Cambodia. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
