Three super fun quilts to inspire!!!

I gave Missy a few options for quilting: jungle leaves, flowers, rainbows, and feathers. She chose the feathers and they look fabulous!!!
Isn't this adorable!!! Missy made this in anticipation of her 4th grandchild, a girl, due Wednesday, July 29th!
Missy used a great variety of Tilda prints--so sweet--all purchased during a trip to Germany earlier this year!
Missy did fusible appliqué along with machine buttonhole stitching. She trimmed the middle parts of the fusible web away, which was a smart move!
She matched them in pairs, so for every red floral elephant with blue ears, there is a blue elephant with red floral ears, if you can follow me!

I have nothing but good things to say about these beauties! Missy's elephants are spectacular! Those Tilda prints are adorable, and that backing is gorgeous. I love the way some of the prints in Bonnie's quilt look like solids until you zoom in. That pattern tricked me - it looks more complicated up close! How neat are those tiny red accents. And Bonnie's table runner - I love that fabric line. I love anything associated with county fairs! As always your quilting is the perfect compliment to these pretty makes!

DeleteI bet Bonnie had fun arranging the fabrics for this topper and for the quilt and Nancy you had fun checking out all the fabrics while you were quilting! And missy wow that was a lot of applique, be sure to let us know when the baby arrives!

ReplyDeleteOh my, those colorful elephants are adorable. The feathers look great and her buttonhole stitch is so neatly done. Thank you for always including the pattern and fabric sources- so useful. Those little red four patch blocks make such a surprising and appealing accent in Bonnie’s piece.
ReplyDeleteThank you - I struggled with the pointy bits - need to watch a few youtube videos about how to do those more neatly, but it was a fun project. I love those little red accents in Bonnie's quilt too - must put that pattern in my queue!

ReplyDeleteThree beauties! I made that Laundry Basket quilt a few years ago, hand appliqueing the elephants - I like Missy's method better! Her quilt is delightful with all those soft colors for the elephants! Bonnie's quilt with the red accents is very fun, and her topper is perfect for memories of fair going!

The sunflower quilt is lovely, too. I really like the pop of red in every block. Yes, the sunflower pantograph was perfect for this quilt.
I really like the gorgeous blue around the border of the table topper. And i have spent some time looking at all the different designs in the fabrics to see all the fair attractions.
Lovely work in all these quilts, as always.

All three are very fun projects, The quilting picked for each works so well. The elephants are my favorite, such a cute quilt for a baby girl.
