RSC 🩵 July

The Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for July is aqua. My RSC goal this year is to whittle down my stack of 5" scrap charm squares by turning them into baby quilts, 9 squares across by 11 squares down, therefore "99 Charms" quilts. Here are the two I made for July.
My Quilt Info #1:
Pattern: 99 Charms
Size: 41" x 50"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Light Turquoise
Pantograph: Ba Da Bing ⤵️ from Urban Elementz
"Ba Da Bing" is a fun, celebratory quilting design!
This penguin backing fabric comes from an IKEA duvet cover.
I love these cool, beachy, calming colors!
My Quilt Info #2:
Pattern: 99 Charms
Size: 41" x 50"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton
Thread: Glide--Light Turquoise
Pantograph: Dreaming ⤵️ from OESD
I had enough of these aqua, turquoise, teal, and sea foam colored charm squares to make 2 baby quilts.
"Dreaming" is a fun, unusual sort of meander!
So many memories tied to each of these "scrap" charm squares!
The IKEA penguin duvet cover was in the children's department. It is twin size and gave me enough fabric to back 4 baby quilts total, with some piecing.
I split the charms squares equally between the two quilts, so they look pretty similiar.
My RSC 99 Charms quilt count for 2026:

January--💙💙💙
February--💚💚
March--❤️❤️
April--🩷🩷🩷
May--🧡🧡
July--🩵🩵

  1. The aquas, teals, turquoises - all my favorites. If Diann from Little Penguin Quilts sees the backing she will want it!

  17. You find the BEST duvet covers to use as backing. You know I love your pantographs. My Bernina came with a 12 month subscription to OESD's Spree club. Don't they have amazing designs. As always you have a great eye for matching pantographs to quilt tops.

  18. Another beautiful set of quilts. I am so in awe of how many 5" squares you have so that you can whip together these little beauties! Isn't it great finding ways to use that stash?

  21. Two more gorgeous 99 charms quilts. And that penguin backing, so lovely. Its interesting to see your tally grow each month. I know I've got charm squares tucked away somewhere, but where exactly, I wonder?

  22. So many bloggers I follow participate in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. While I can't do so without buying more fabric (which I refuse to do), I sure can enjoy each month's color. Teal is a favorite, and yours turned out great. I admire that you didn't use ONLY teal in your quilts, but rather chose some other multi-color prints to coordinate with teal. That gives each quilt so much more interest. Contrast is key. Beautifully done, Nancy!

  24. Every time you show an IKEA duvet cover I'm ready to hop in the car and go find my own. Except, I need to use some of the backings I currently have before I add any more. I've bought several wide backs recently. Love those penguins. They are perfect with your baby quilts.

  31. I love your aqua colored versions. And I for sure now want a pinguin backed quilt. Ok, hopefully I can talk myself out of it, but I will google the Ikea duvet first ;)
PS: I think you are right with the "unusual meander" description. Surely in a postive way. For me it is the little circle. xo
