Paula made this fun checkerboard 16-patch quilt!
With it being a bit traditional, I quilted it with Baptist Swirl:
I recommend Paula's fun podcast called Knitting Pipeline. She has 304 episodes so far, and also leads knitting retreats, of which DD2 and I have enjoyed attending twice. Paula recently said she splits her time about 50/50 with knitting and quilting, so her podcasts also contain quilt talk now. You can catch some of her quilting videos on YouTube, here.
Grace & peace!!! ~Nancy

If a quilt could look both modern and traditional at the same time, it's this one! And your quilting fits is so well.
ReplyDeleteThat twist to the Baptist Fan is really fun, and adds a little something to an already pretty quilt! Great finish, both of you!
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful! I love the quilting -- its so fun.
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt and wonderful quilting, thanks for linking it up to TGIFF!
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is such a good marriage of modern and traditional! I love the baptist fans, definitely one I need to mark to do it (so I don't) but one of these days I'll have to try pantos!
ReplyDeleteI really like this quilt. Good job Paula! I agree with the comments that it has a traditional, yet modern look. Your quilting compliments this project as usual!

Oh that is so great!
ReplyDeleteI love it Nancy and the quilting is awesome.
ReplyDeleteLove the baptist swirl. I have not seen that one before. Great variation!
ReplyDeleteYou just can't beat a 16 patch. I agree with Vicki above, it's both modern and traditional. It's interesting how different the block looks when the border matches one of the colors in the block. Beautiful quilting!
