Charity Quilts 44, 45, 46, & 47 of 52 ๐Ÿ’

I'm making 52 quilts in 2018 for Jack's Basket, where babies with Down syndrome are celebrated. ๐ŸŽ‰ Check out their Instagram account, Jack's Basket, for a lot of cute baby pictures!

The pattern I'm using is "Simple Gifts", from the mini book Fat Quarter Love, and uses 4 fat quarters. These quilts finish at 30" X 36". Here are quilts 44 through 47:

I'm really enjoying quilting all four quilts at once, so fast and sleek and satisfying:

Quilt 44:

And the 4 fat quarters that make up this quilt:

Quilt 45:

These quilts use 4 fat quarters, and, as a friend said, who doesn't have 4 fat quarters?!:

Quilt 46:

And the 4 fat quarters that make it:

And quilt 47:

The quilting is "Echo Swirls", a very intense and dense spiral design:

Here's a peek at the backing fabric for these 4 quilts. It takes 3 1/2 yards of regular 44" width fabric:

And just for interest, here's a photo of all four quilts, fresh off the longarm and edges only trimmed. They're still attached to each other like one long quilt:
Just 5 more quilts to go for 2018!

Check out the charity quilt link-up and add your own link, at Slice of Pi Quilts on the last day of each month in 2018, where Laura is also working on 52 charity quilts in 2018.

  6. I love #47! Those hot, saturated colors with black make me do a little happy dance :) And how fun to see them all attached like that. It's really cool that you can quilt up four at a time!

  9. Hi Nancy! I just love this goal, and how inspiring it is to read about your progress. It impresses me that you and sweet Laura are able to meet this goal. {{Hugs}} to both of you, and any other participants. These are so lovely. The recipients will just love them and feel all the love and good wishes that were sewn into them especially for them. I adore the quilting pattern you chose! Perfect for those fabrics. Happy Wednesday to you! ~smile~ Roseanne
