✂️ Maker's Quilt ✂️

Paula calls this quilt her "Maker's Quilt" and I love the idea! She made one extra block from each quilt she has made and put them all together here, many of them with added embroidered documentation.

Paula constructed this quilt using "quilt-as-you-go", with batting. Then I added a backing and did stitch-in-the-ditch:

Her blocks go chronologically, starting in the upper lefthand corner with this block from her first quilt. Quilt Corner is the name of a LQS.

I love this block Paula made in a Japanese sashiko class:

A sweet block from one of the many quilts Paula has made for her granddaughters:

The embroidery details she has added to these blocks add so much!

The name of this quilt pattern is "Hanky Panky", just in case you're puzzling over that!

I love the cardinals and poetry in this block! Paula does a podcast and vlog (video blog) called "Knitting Pipeline", which is about knitting and quilting, plus a lot more, including birding and nature notes.

Paula's latest vlog where she reveals her "Makers Quilt" just came out on May 31. Paula's sister co-hosts with her in this episode. Paula is being treated for cancer right now and has been an inspiration to all of her friends and followers. Paula introduces her Maker's Quilt 25 minutes into the vlog, but you'll enjoy watching the whole thing!
Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

  4. Paula is a very clever quilter! Her Maker's Quilt is a fabulous idea for a memory quilt. I made "sample blocks" to test BOM projects, but didn't make the transition to creating a block for each quilt that I made. Now, I'm a little sad that I didn't think of this. Your quilting really enhanced what Paula had going on in the quilt, Nancy. Nice work!!

  5. Paula is prolific and very, very organized! I can't imagine keeping track of every quilt in that way, much less having the patience to store extra blocks. She ended up with a beautiful, unique treasure :)

  9. What a wonderful quilt! It is a great idea - but too late for me. The little details are just so awesome. What a privilege to quilt this one (even if it was QAYGO).
