Such a quilt calls for feather quilting:

Interesting Fact: I finished quilting this on a rainy day, so outdoor photos weren't an option. DH and I went to the Mall of America and took photos there. At one point we were asked to stop, by a plain clothes security guard! Before that we were able to take the following photos:

They were having a special display of giant NFL helmets. Since Missy lives in Nashville, we thought it would be fun to take a photo with the Tennessee Titans helmet!

Missy's quilt looks so crisp and fresh. It is very pretty, along with your quilting. Fun pictures at MOA!

ReplyDeleteGreat photo shoot, and a beautiful finish. I love all Irish chain quilts. Thanks for linking with Design Wall Mondays, Judy
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun quilt! I love single Irish chains and the feathers are perfect!
ReplyDeletePretty and such a clever idea for a photo shoot.
ReplyDeleteI find it a little odd that you were asked to stop! Especially with everyone using cell phone cameras all the time. I take quilt photos in unusual places. I get curious looks but so far haven't been approached by police.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt! and yes, no photos allowed at MOA.
ReplyDeleteI love Irish Chain quilts! Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss. Your quilting is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is one beautiful quilt! I know I am very late to the party, but I just found you. I love Edyta Sitar's fabrics, and Laundry Basket Quilts is one of my favorite blogs. Could you tell me please what the background fabric is here? It is just such a perfect shade for the blues and browns in the chain. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHi Hopflower! Thank you for your kind comment! You show up as so I'm answering you here. This quilt was made by Missy and I just quilted it. It looks like she used a "vintage white" solid for the background. That is the perfect color for LBQ fabrics.
