✂️ Elvira--✂️Quarantine Quilt Along ✂️

What do 16,000 quilters have in common?! We all downloaded the Elvira quilt pattern on March 21 & 22, 2020, and did a quilt along with Gudrun, the designer of the pattern, online on March 22! Here's my finished Elvira quilt along quilt:

DD2 pulled together a pretty combo of fabrics from my collection. She started out with this inspiration, from Design Seeds:
And came up with these fabrics:
Quilt Info:
Pattern: Elvira by Gudrun Erla of GE Designs
Size: 63" X 84"
Batting: Franken-batting (leftover pieces of Quilters Dream Batting)
Thread: Glide--Light Olive
Quilting: Trillium
Interesting Info: Gudrun had live teaching videos every two hours on March 22, starting at 9 AM and ending at 5 PM. Those videos are now available on YouTube--Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, and Part 5.

For quilting, I chose Trillium, using my new Quilt Path:

Here are some of my favorite blocks, including this bunny fabric from my friend, Tiffany:

The backing is this Japanese stamp fabric:

You can see many versions of "Elvira" on Instagram, here. And here are some statistics of this giant quilt along:

My quilt is part of the Hands2Help Comfort Quilt Challenge 2020 and will go to Minnesota Quilters President's Invitational charity, AnnaMarie's Alliance

  1. What lovely colors! I like how the quilting shows up on the more solid fabrics and the bigger prints add a touch of whimsy. Thanks for joining us at TGIFF!

  16. Elvira is stunning. Sorry for the delay in thanking you for linking up last week. Between creating video tutorial and lots and lots of sewing I haven't spent much time online. Thank you for linking up.
